It isn't easy ordering pizza to be delivered to a hotel. After a long day of walking around Montreal we just wanted to stay in with a bottle of wine, a movie and a pizza. Unfortunately after calling numerous pizza restaurants who refused to deliver to our hotel (located in the heart of downtown Mtl), we realized this was going to be a problem. I did some research online for the best pizza restaurants and kept coming across Sul Viale, an Italian restaurant in Upper Lachine that also does delivery.

When I called they told me that our hotel was farther than they are normally willing to drive for delivery, however they would make an exception for us. "I will make you the best pizza in Montreal" I was promised. We waited for about 45 minutes - not bad considering our hotel was 20 minutes from their restaurant - and received two piping hot 12 " thin crust pizzas for under $30.

The operator did not lie. The pizzas were delicious! My husband had the harvard (tomato sauce, onions, black olives, pancetta, mushrooms, cheese) and I had a vegetarian one (Old Orchard) that was good but not quite as good as his. I suspect the best pizzas are the least traditional ones. The wood fired thin crust, the thick cheese and rich tomato sauce definitely make these pizzas far superior to regular delivery pizza.

For that kind of service I would certainly order from them again or visit the restaurant in person.
