Wonderfully moisturized skin!

I received a free AVEENO Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm from Chick Advisor to try and review. My 3 youngest children (10, 7, 2) and I suffer from eczema. My kids suffer worse than I, and my daughter the worst of all. We’ve tried several over the counter eczema products in the last few years trying to find something that stops them from scratching until they bleed. No perfect fixes but, I have been impressed with this new product from Aveeno. We’ve tried their other Eczema items with no relief. I love that this feels better both when I apply it on my children and myself. The consistency of this balm, is much better for our issues of dry skin and eczema. When they apply this themselves there were no complaints of icky hands and skin after applying it. I does feel a wee bit sticky/tacky afterwards for a little bit and I definitely want to wash my the palm of my hands when done, yet it feels pretty good on the rest of my body. On the whole it feels much better both going on and afterwards than most Eczema products which is a big plus for us. I was happy to see a quick improvement with my daughter’s wrists after a few applications. I was really amazed at how my extremely dry skin felt really smooth after 2 applications and it felt great for a long time afterwards. Finding products that leave my skin feeling moisturized for more than an hour or two is rare. This felt great 24 hours later on areas that I normally have to keep reapplying to before it makes any real difference. Unfortunately my 2 yr old son seemed to have a reaction to it. The rest of us will continue to try this for a bit longer to see if there are more improvements. With Winter dry skin as well we could use the help, a definite bonus. Very glad we got to try this.

Great for eczema on the hands

I got this product from ChickAdvisor as part of their product review club.

I liked that it didn't sting at all which most lotions do on eczema. I liked that it almost was like a coating on the hands but it wasn't greasy or sticky. This definitely sped up the healing of the eczema as well as keeping it from flaring up.

Great product

I received this product free to try from ChickAdvisor and have really been enjoying it. I find that it is gentle enough on my skin. It doesn't leave a greasy residue behind like some lotions.

Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm-No more itchy dry skin!

I received a free jar of Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm in exchange of an honest review. I have extremely dry skin in the winter. It peels and is very itchy. I used the product every day for a week and my skin was smooth, soft and no longer itchy.

I like that there's no scent and it's not greasy at all. I would recommend it to my family and friends and would definitely purchase it for myself.

Not bad

I like the fact that this had virtually no odor or perfume as i will not usually purchase any scented products. Did not relieve the itch like I expected.

Great Eczema cream if you don't mind the sticky

I received this product to review for free thanks to ChichAdvisor! I didn't receive an info card with this product so I am not sure how much it is but Aveeno products generally are affordable and available at most drugstore and grocery stores. When using this product it goes on smoothly as expected and no bits in the product. Some Aveeno products I have noticed have had bits of oatmeal or product. Absorption is pretty good however even after 30 min of application I found it left skin sticky. Still, it did moisturize and kept moisturizing even the next morning when applying at night or from day to night when applying first thin in the morning. This worked better than other Aveeno products I have used to treat Eczema. But the name of the product is also appropriate as skin was not itchy but I am not a fan of the sticky feeling. The smell is not offensive and stinky like some unscented products. I would ike to see this product in a pumo instead of a jar for sanitary purposes. I would use this m product in a pinch as a night lotion before bed but I don't think I will buy due to the stickiness. #tryAveenoEczema#gotitfree

Aveeno beaume anti-démangeaison soin eczéma

J'ai eu la chance d'essayer ce produit gratuitement grâce à chickadvisor et Aveeno. Ma fille de 3 ans a des grosses poussées d'eczéma à chaque hiver et on essai donc de la soulager pour éviter les blessures à force de se gratter. Cette crème convient parfaitement pour hydrater en profondeur et calmer les démangeaisons! Il ne faut pas confondre avec une crème qui enlèvera l'eczéma mais plutôt une solution temporaire pour diminuer le grattage et ses effets. Ma fille à très bien intégrer l'application de crème après son bain, à sa routine. Le seul bémol c'est qu'elle est sensé être non graisseuse et mon conjoint déteste l'appliquer car elle laisse les mains 'grasses'. Sinon je recommande ce produit qui aide grandement à l'hydratation avec de bons produits!

Excellent produit pour l'eczéma!

Je souffre d'eczéma depuis une vingtaine d'années et j'ai essayé toutes les crèmes, lotions et baumes sur le marché. J'ai aussi reçu des prescriptions à base de cortisone qui ont aidé à contrôler mes crises d'eczéma, mais qui ne soulagent pas les démangeaisons.

J'ai eu la chance de tester le baume anti-démangeaisons d'Aveeno et je dois admettre que j'ai été épatée par les résultats! La texture du baume se fond bien dans la peau et ne laisse pas de sensation collante. Étant donné qu'elle calme les démangeaisons, je n'ai pas le réflexe de me gratter, alors mon eczéma s'est considérablement amélioré. Je pense que ce baume, en combinaison avec mon onguent à la cortisone, contribuera à faire diminuer drastiquement mon eczéma. Aussi, son rapport qualité-prix est excellent; j'ai l'impression que le gros pot me durera pour plusieurs mois! Je recommande aux personnes souffrant d'eczéma d'en faire l'essai.

Effective but Inconsistent

To give you a context for my review, I have struggled with sensitive skin and eczema since I was a baby. My skin gets dry quite easily and our Canadian winters do not help. I am also a total Aveeno girl. I take frequent Aveeno oatmeal baths in the winter and am never without my Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on my nightstand. That being said, I liked this product but was not in love with it.

As anyone who struggles with eczema knows, you will try anything and everything to relieve the itch and sooth the rough patches and redness. As as result we've all tried countless products in our quest. While I found this balm to be effective for certain patches of my eczema, I found it totally ineffective on others.

I noticed that it worked wonders on old, stubborn to heal patches, yet it was pretty ineffective in soothing my new flare ups. I had a few patches of skin with lingering redness, but not that much itch that had been around for months. Somehow this balm eliminated the rough patch and redness on these after a few days of applying only once a day after a shower. However I had some new flare ups occur while I was using this balm, and it did not seem to significantly reduce the redness or the itching on these. Unfortunately it did little to control the spread of the new flare ups as well.

I will also say that it is not the type of balm that soothes the itch on contact. Many other eczema spot treatments claim to do this (and some do it well) but I don't think this balm is meant to be used that way. Where this product excels is as a daily general skin care product for itchy, dry and sensitive skin. It is a large tub (excellent value) and the condition of my skin where I had been using it is great. For example, I have several patches on my hands (particularly at the wrists and knuckles) so I used this balm 3 times a day on my entire hand. My hands are soft and the skin is smooth and moisturized. It hasn't controlled one of the new flare ups on my wrist, but the overall condition of my skin is lovely, and the roughness and redness of some older patches has cleared up.

I received this product free to try from Aveeno and the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. Overall I do not think I would purchase it in the future but I would recommend it to a friend. Just because it wasn't entirely effective on my eczema does not mean that it would not work for others. Furthermore, it is a high quality product and a great value for the amount you use, and how far it goes.

Great Relief for Itchiness

I tried this balm as part of the Product Review Club.

My skin has always suffered from eczema but it hasnt been too bad this winter. Though for some reason, my legs have been extremely dry and itchy this cold weather season. The balm provided instant relief and also mosturized my skin. It can feel a bit sticky but at least I don't feel the need to scratch my legs off.
