Bare Escentuals is a groundbreaking make-up that works amazingly. It covers anything and everything from blemishes to rosacea. As long as you can swirl, tap, and buff, it's easy peasy to apply. A little goes a long way. The cost is $25 a tub, but it lasts a long time. I would highly reccomend it to all of my friends and family. It comes in various shades and if you don't know what color suits you best, head in to a boutique, (bare escentuals, Ulta, and Sephora for sure) and they will give you a free demonstration to help you find the perfect color and show you how the product line works.
I hate to wear makeup but this stuff does not seem like "makeup". I got a free sample and fell in love. It does not look like I am wearing makeup, but yet it improves the look of my face. When they say, airbrushed, that really is a fitting term. After I finished my sample jar, I bought some cheaper loreal mineral powder and it was not as good. Bare Minerals is the best and worth the price in my opinion.
I had been hesitant to try a powder foundation, but after getting a sample of this I fell in love with it. It took a bit to figure out how much to apply to get a medium to full coverage, but once I got it to the right coverage I was really pleased with it. I use it with Bare Escentuals concealer for the best cover.
this is a good product i love that it is natural and doesnt clog the pores but i tried other mineral makeups also and i noticed that this one is alot heavier than the others i would try them all to see what you like the most you may be different than me but i likes sheer cover more because it feels lighter
This kit has everything you need to get started using mineral makeup. Well worth the price you pay for this kit because you actually get $174 worth of products. The brushes alone are worth the $60 in my opinion. I highly recommend this brand and this kit. It even comes with a DVD to help you learn how to use everything included in your kit. You will be hooked the first time you try this stuff. The foundation and mineral veil gives you a smooth, flawless finish that is perfect for day and night.
I have been using this foundation for almost three years now. At first it was hard to find a colour that matched my skin tone, as I have gold undertones and find that the shades for darker skins can look wither too red, or ashy or chalky. However Bare Minerals recently added some new shades and I have found the Golden Deep works well.
If you have blemishes or hyperpigmentation, you have to layer on the bare minerals in order to get good coverage, although it looks awesome in photos, my skin looks "made up". I find that people compliment me on my skin when I wear this foundation, but my only gripe is that it makes my face itch, especially on a hot or humid day. It's very uncomfortable when this happens. I have read that this happens to a lot of women with sensitive skin types as there is an ingredient in Bare Minerals (bismuth oxychloride) that causes the skin itch.
Overall, I like the product but I am still searching for a mineral make up that doesn't make my skin itch -- and once I find it, I will switch from BE i.d. Bare Minerals.
I the light kit last year. 2 things that makes me wanted to try it was it's suppose to look like I have nothing on but better and it's suppose got spf 15. It does look very natural but I don't think it covers very well. I started to have minor break out couple of weeks after I start to use this and I couldn't cover them up very well. I also started to get sun spot on my nose. So I am not sure I would buy it again. While I didn't break out it does look very good. I will confess I tried the cover fx mineral one after this and it covers even worse and didn't improve the break out situation. I am on the hunt for the next best thing
absolutely adore this product, but as mentioned below I've noticed my forehead tends to look oily couple hours in. The mineral veil helps out a lot. Or even just oil-blotting sheets. Great coverage and long lasting.
I bought this based on the reviews on this website and I'm glad I did. I bought the starter kit for $75 at Sephora that comes with 2 shades of foundation, the mineral veil, warmth and the vitamin face lotion.
The foundation is very light and I hardly feel like I'm wearing anything at all. I like how it comes with the warmth because if I happen to tan in the summer (hasn't happened yet but it could!) I can add it to the foundation for a darker shade. I've tried 2 other mineral foundations before - I forget the first one but it caused me to break out and the other one was L'Oreal. L'Oreal was good but it'd come off easily where as Bare Minerals stays on for pretty much the whole day.
The only complaint I have is that unlike what the lady told me at Sephora, putting the mineral veil under the foundation does not help with the oiliness. My face does get oily more quickly when I wear this compared to when I don't wear any make-up. But that's easy to solve with the oil-absorbing sheets.
Overall this is a very good buy. Especially the starter kit!
