Some days, I just crave breakfast meats. It helps to know there are lower-fat, lower-calorie alternatives to traditional pork franks and bacon. While there’s still a bit of guilt (still processed meats) it feels like a lighter compromise. Moderation is key.

Butterball Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon:
This has quickly become my go-to bacon. I love that the strips are mostly meat with none of that translucent fat you see in pork bacon. It feels more substantial and a little less greasy on the plate.

I liked it for a once in a while treat but wouldn’t have it every day since it’s so high in sodium as is regular bacon. It is better if you’re watching your saturated and trans fat since it’s only 2% per slice

Switching to turkey bacon now

This is my first time trying turkey bacon and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It is much less greasy, with zero oil splatter when pan-frying them, and the flavour is surprisingly it similar to pork bacon! Plus, a healthier option as it has lower fat content. We are definitely switching to turkey bacon now.

I received a coupon to redeem butterball applewood smoked turkey bacon from butterly for free for my honest review and I’m glad I was given the opportunity the Turkey bacon is such a great substitute for “pork “ bacon it was delicious as a BLT so much flavour and so tasty I enjoyed that fact it wasn’t salty I absolutely recommend it and will be trying it again! Butterball Turkey Bacon

Have you tried turkey bacon before? A leaner option than traditional pork bacon, Butterball's Applewood Smoked Turkey Bacon tastes great, and has 5 grams of protein per slice! Sounds like a great way to start your day!

I like to switch things up and have turkey bacon every now and then. I find it cooks quicker then traditional pork bacon, and there's less mess involved. I will lightly grease my cast iron frying pan first before frying.

That said, this was my first time trying a Butterball brand of turkey bacon, and I was pleased to find it compares well to the turkey bacon I normally purchase. I enjoyed the subtle applewood smoked flavour, it would be great to use for a BLT style sandwich, or in a salad.

Good alternative!

Butterball turkey bacon in applewood smoked flavor is flavourful and makes for a decent alternative. The texture is more chewy, it didn’t result in crispy bacon as the cut is bigger and there’s less fat. We had it as sides for breakfast and also on burgers.
