We recently started canoeing, and wanted to be able to take our phones both for safety and for photographing our adventures. We ordered both the blue and black pouches.
At first, I was a bit confused as to how to work the lanyard, but quickly figured out that you adjust it so your head fits through and the back of the lanyard is adjusted to the desired length. If I am just boating, I keep the lanyard tighter and the phone closer to my neck. If I am taking pictures, I loosen the lanyard at the back for better picture taking. This is just my preference and comfort level for my neck.
The cord that creates the lanyard is AWESOME! It’s thick and quality, and hopefully we will not have to use it for an emergency, but it is definitely a great safety feature. The bottom that hooks onto the plastic pouch could be a bit thicker? I feel that it might come off the phone case if there really is an emergency – mind you, saving your life with rope vs losing a phone is kind of priceless.
Once the air is mainly out of the pouch, it takes fabulous pictures – like there is no plastic screen in front of your phone. My phone is also useable and I have not had any swiping issues.
The pouch is a thicker plastic and we did the paper towel test first (paper towel inside, close the pouch, and dunk it in a sink full of water). It did not fail, and the paper towel came out dry! It fits both my iPhone 5S and Husband’s Galaxy 5 with room still within it for movement. To close it, it took me a few tries, but once you get the clips through the proper holes, they snap shut and seal in your phone.
It also has a glowing line around the rectangular shape of the case – which shows up when it is dark outside – allowing for you to find your phone if you, for example, drop it in the water, or as a beacon in case you are involved in an emergency.
Overall, we are quite happy with the durability, functionality, and protectiveness of this case without worrying about our phones getting wet or muddy from our adventures.
