I have this eye liner in soft smudge black and I love the way it applies nice and smoothly. It also lasts quite a while and for many sharpenings because it is not too soft.

As an eye pencil it is easy to use. But more importantly, it goes on VERY smooth. It is a little difficult to rinse off at bedtime but that means no smudging and stays on very well. Sometimes in the am I wake up with black corner "eye goobers" which is not great but find that is pretty standard for most eye products. Maybe I just dont wash them off well enough.

I love the fact that this eyeliner stays in place and lasts all day long. I wear contact lenses and it does not irritate them. I also love to smudge, and this product works great for that.
I find the colors of these eyeliners pretty basic- I would expect a bit more from Estee Lauder :)

I would never have bought this if I hadn't had to. It was prom day, I'd never done my own make-up before (oh, how that would change!) and I was desperate and clueless. I waltzed into The Bay and found the first make-up person I could and she took me over to the Estee Lauder table. Had I known the price of their products I would have steered towards a different table. Because to have them do your make-up you need to buy at least two of the products they use on you. I cringe to recall that I ended up spending 80 dollars on two products when I was a clueless, foundationless high school grad-to-be.

When I told my mum, she assured me that Estee Lauder was one of the better companies and that it was more than likely that even if I'd been horrified by the price, it would be worth it. Was it? Yes.

Although I no longer use the pencil, in favour of liquid, this baby was my first weapon in my make-up arsenal. It was creamy to apply, didn't transfer much (it did a little where the corners of my eyes are often moist, though), and the soft smudge brush on the other end of the pencil made application enjoyable. The pencil even came with a finger grip. Talk about luxury. At least I got my money's worth, I think! I bought it in 02 Softsmudge brown, so it's a nice colour for a little bit of a more subtle look.

My only complaint is that the cap for the softsmudge brush eventually cracked and I had to hold it together with tape - and the initial shock of the price. And it's not smudge/transfer-proof... I don't know why, but somehow the product makes up for that itself. So long as you don't want to use it on your inner lids, and are focusing on around the eye, though, you should have no trouble. :)
