I received this product through the Product Review Club and was quite excited to see a little tub of moisturizer along with it. Thank you Garnier! The cleanser itself was a new idea for me as I typically do not use a brush like that on my face. I was pleased to see that the bristles were not plastic and did not give the coarse massage that I was expecting, instead they are rubbery and move along with your face to give quite the pleasant massage feeling. I really enjoyed the process and was impressed with how well thought out it was with the opening and closing feature ( I can imagine lots of spills and messes without this!). At first I did not get enough on the brush the first time and so I added more the second time around and was pleased with how it spread across my face. The product itself has a nice and refreshing scent to it and the accompanying lotion did too. It left my face dryer than I like it to be and so the moisturizer was a good feature to have, I can imagine that this product would be better for oily skin than my sensitive skin. I do not think that I will be going out to buy it but that may still change once I finish using the bottle up!

I recieved this through the review panel.

I like the feel of the rubbery bristles on my face. The bottle that holds the gel is very stiff and makes it more difficult than I would like to dispense the gel onto the brush. I believe that this will lead to problems once the amount of product in the bottle decreases. It seems to be one of those products that will go to the garbage with a good amount of usuable product stuck to the sides of the bottle. I think they could have done a better job of designing the bottle.

That said I did notice a difference in the "smoothness" of my skin and I attribute that to the brush more so than the product. Perhaps Garnier should have designed a brush for use independant from the cleanser. I would have purchased something like that to use with a different cleanser as I REALLY like the brush but am not over the moon about the gel or the packaging of the product.

It claims you can feel noticably smoother skin in 1 day, and I did. I don't think this is something I would have purchased on my own if seen in the store. At first glance it appears a little gimicky. I have to admit though the rubbery bristles feel nice on my face. I do find the bottle is a bit difficult to dispense the gel to the brush. I think this will cause issues once the bottle starts to empty more. I would prefer the gel to be stored in a softer dispenser that was easier to squeeze. Overall I like the product and I think it does a good job on my skin. I would give the product an A- and the package design a C. I really dislike packaging that make it difficult to get to the last 20% of the product.

I came back to change my star rating on this review and change from you betcha to fuggedaboutit because the more I think about it the more I have decided that it is only the brush component of this prodcut that I like and not so much the product. Howevver I cannot change that part so I will content myself with updating this in writing.

It seems as though you get a fair amount of product for how much you need to use, which is great. It's pretty easy and self-explanatory to use. You unscrew the top of brush, turn it upside down, squeez a bit of the product out onto the bristles and then twist it up again. Wet both your face and the bristles with lukewarm water. Gently massage the bristles over your face, avoiding the eye area. I up ended rinsing off the bristles twice and re-massaged it over my face twice. I liked the massaging feeling a lot and I wanted to make sure that I really got my face clean.

I did this over the sink and didn't experience as much of the mess that everyone else seemed to have run into. I was expecting a lot worse!

My skin is very prone to break outs and is dry, normal and oily in the most random places. I haven't really found a product that works well for me yet, so my skin was in prime, crappy condition to try this out with!

I found that it was a bit drying. I felt like I had to add moisturizer quite quickly after washing my face to alleviate the discomfort of the drying.

I used a bit of toner afterwards to see if the cleanser left any dirt behind. I noticed quite a bit of makeup and dirt left behind, so I would definitely have to use a toner if I find that this works well for me in the long-term.

I really with that we had an option between "You Betcha!" and "Fugheddaboutit!". I wouldn't run out and enthusiastically recommend this product to anyone, but I don't want to tell anyone to stay away from it either...so, my feelings about it are, "meh...". It just seems a bit gimmicky to me. Cool new tool, but with an average formula in the bottle.

I received the Garnier Skin Renew Brusher Gel Cleanser through the PRC.

The first thing that surprised me about this product was that the brusher was not actually separate from the bottle of gel itself. I expected the brush to clip conveniently into the lid, but be removable for use. Instead, the brusher was actually attached to the bottle and does not come off. To use the cleanser you have to twist the brush to open the bottle, tilt the bottle upside down, squeeze the bottle to dispense the gel onto the brush (there is an opening in the brush through which the gel dispenses), then twist the brush head to close the bottle, then use the brush (still attached to the bottle) in a circular motion over the face. At first this sounded kind of neat... then it became a pain (and I only used it for three days!). I hate the design of this product, hate it. It is cumbersome and awkward to use because you have to hold the whole bottle of cleanser while you use the brusher over your face.

The other problem is that the first time I used it I didn't dispense enough of the gel onto the brush at first. This meant that I had to stop washing my face, rinse the brush off completely (so none of the used soap or residue was on the brush), then twist the brush top open again to dispense more gel... If the brush itself was separate from the bottle of gel I could have easily opened the gel bottle and squeezed out more gel onto the brush without having to worry about the used gel (with all the makeup and skin residue in it) getting into the bottle of gel and contaminating the whole thing. What a pain.

I've used cleansers with a soft brush before and expected the brush on this product to be similar. The brush has plastic bristles (silicone maybe?) and are not nice and soft. They are a bit stiff and they "flick" quite a bit (spraying soap onto my bathroom mirror when I used it over my sink). They bristles also caught the hairs along my hairline and pulled at them which made using the product annoying.

I found that the gel itself cleansed my skin pretty well. The smell was a little stronger than I usually like, but it wasn't offensive. The gel removed all my makeup fairly easily.

My skin felt nice and soft after using the cleanser, and it seemed to exfoliate my skin gently without drying it out.

Garnier included a full size jar of the Skin Renew moisturizer with the Cleanser. This was a nice surprise! The moisturizer was quite a bit heavier than what I normally use, but I think I will continue using it at night only. The brusher gel cleanser is supposed to improve the effectiveness of my moisturizer, but I didn't really notice much difference here.

Overall, I found the product was disappointing. I think the design of the bottle with the attached brush to be its major downfall. The likelihood of the used gel filled with makeup residue and skin residue from cleansing getting into the bottle of gel by accident (by either not closing the brush fully or in trying to add more gel to the brush in the middle of face washing) seems very high. It's such a shame that Garnier didn't opt for a brush that could be stored on the lid of the gel bottle, but comes completely off the bottle for cleansing. This alone would have made me recommend this product.

I was really excited to try this product. I liked that the brush was very soft and that the bottle was easy to hold and use. The cleanser was also very light and I liked how it foamed up when using it. I didn't notice a big difference in my complexion. I have combination skin with some imperfections. It states on the bottles that you will notice smoother skin after just one use. I didn't really notice that either. In saying that, I only recieved the product about 5 days ago so maybe with a week or two I would have noticed more changes in my skin. It gave a nice clean feeling and it had a nice light fragrance. All in all not a bad product.

Product was easy to use, though you have to twist/squeeze it to get the gel out, and I felt the gel didnt come out all the way to the tips properly and remained at the bottom, or you had to use more than usual to get enough for the whole face.
I wish the brush was more rough...super soft, but I like exfoliators. I think those are the best to get super clean skin. I liked the smell of the product alot!!! I usually dont but it smelt great!! I don't know how effective it is at creating an even tone but smelt great.
Seems like a very mild formula. My skin felt clean afterward but nothing out of the normal. The moisturizer was great and sunk right in but since I get really dry skin after i wash, this was normal. But the moisturizer wasn't oily which was great :) This product is good for a general clean, not aggressive clean. I really like that super clean feel because my face gets oily throughout the day. This product would be good for ppl with sensitive skin or who dont like to scrub hard. Smells great though!! I'd buy it again for days when I have pimples or for use when skin is super sensitive.

As someone with relatively sensitive and acne prone skin, if I'm not careful, I'm fairly cautious about trying out new products. When I find something that works, I like to stick to it. However, I had the opportunity to try Garnier Skin Renew Brusher Gel-Cleanser and figured that the whole brush/massager system was interesting enough for me to give it a shot at least once.

Now, don't get me wrong, it is nice. Make sure to wet your face first (I forgot, initially, after getting caught up in brush preparation and the brush didn't glide very well over my dry skin) and the massage will feel absolutely lovely. Even if the brush preparation is a little bit of a pain when you're used to just squirting some cleanser into your hands and rubbing them together, it's an invigorating feeling. The brush is gentle and soft and distributes the product well over your skin.

My only issue with the product is how it left my skin feeling. No matter how much I rinsed my face after applying the product, my skin felt a little slimy, like there was a layer of product left behind. This isn't a feeling I'm particularly fond of. After using this product, I had to wash my face a second time with my regular cleanser just to feel clean.

For someone with skin less sensitive than mine, this might be a great product and I absolutely love the brush idea. I won't continue to use it, but I bet some people out there are going to love this.
