Great foundation! I like how MAC has a wide variety of shades to suit most skin-tones. However, that being said, I still find this foundation to be a bit orangey. I have combo/oily skin so this is great for absorbing oil and it lasts pretty much all day. This foundation also has great coverage -- it makes your face look flawless. Another thing -- since it has SPF, I wouldn't recommend wearing this out at night (clubbing, or wherever you may go) because the SPF adds light particles to the foundation which makes your face look super shiny when taking pictures. Also, I'm not too crazy about the price, but it is MAC after all. Overall, I would recommend this product.

I am a fan of MAC foundations because I find that the quality is hard to match. I like this product because it provides nice coverage and blends away imperfections. Just to let others know it DOES NOT cover dark circles. For the price the foundation lasts for a LONG LONG time. I bought this more than 2 years ago and the bottle is pretty full.

When applying this foundation it is better you use a brush (does not have to be a MAC brush) but if you apply it by hand the foundation remains on the same place you put it on intially and leaves an orange tint to it. So you have to blend and a little does infact go a long way.

I would suggest wearing this product on nights and days when you need a lot of coverage and not really for everday use because it is quite heavy and if you are the type of person who likes light coverae I would suggest using a powder during the day then to use this at night. It also leaves an oily residue which you have to touch up ever so often with their studio fix powder (or any other brand with a similar colour)

All in all i love this foundation and if you find a colour exactly to match your skin its perfect

Although I am a fan of MAC foundations, this one doesn't really do it for me:

    LOVE:
    - the coverage is medium to heavy, so it covers all my color imperfections (mild acne scarring, etc)
    - the price is cheaper than lots of other department store brands
    - the colour matches my skin tone really well (initially)
    - in the summer it keeps my shine under control without being too matte
    - mixing this foundation with strobe liquid makes it look a lot like MAC hyper real foundation (there are no MAC PRO stores near my house)

    LEAVE:
    - if i don't use a primer, this foundation has a tendency oxidize and turn orange on me. I know that with a primer it stays true to its original colour longer, but i prefer not having to use primer daily as it cant break me out, so i save primer for special occasions.
-if my skin is the tiniest bit dry, it accentuates any flakiness - NOTE that this foundation is not for those with dry skin!

OVERALL: There are things that I love and things that drive me bonkers about this foundation. if you're someone who changes their foundation with the seasons, this foundation can really stand up to my summer oiliness.

I always recommend this product when a friend or family member asks what kind of foundation they should use, or when they ask me what I use. Some might say it is a little pricey for a foundation, but in my opinion I think it is reasonably priced. It is of good quality and is very effective.

I like to say this product has light to medium buildable coverage, which is good when you want a little or a lot of coverage. The fact that it has an spf of 15 is an added bonus.

I enjoy using this product very much and I use it on a daily basis, with no bad side effects.

Price 4/5: Pretty reasonable for an over-the-counter foundation. Price may seem steep to some, but not much product is needed per application, so it should last at least a few months.

Quality 3.5/5: The formula is rather viscous (think chocolate syrup), and has medium-buildable coverage. Not necessarily recommended for more than 8 hours of wear because the finish tends to get patchy with time. The product may also oxidize (usually happens after a nap), and appear paler that the initial application colour. Even though the formula is oil-free, it does break me out once in a while. Additionally, due to the SPF component, the formula doesn't photograph well with flash. The SPF ingredients reflect the flash of a camera, and will make your face appear white-cast in pictures.

Effectiveness 4/5: A little goes a long way with this foundation. The coverage is pretty good, and the finish is matte, but not unpleasantly so. A dime-sized amount is usually enough. If I use any more than that, I find that the finish tends to look cakey and unnatural. Rather than using more to cover all your flaws, I suggest using less and investing in a good concealer.

Packaging 2/5: I don't like that my particular foundation doesn't come with a pump (although I think now you have the option to pay more for a bottle with a pump). Screw top containers like this are unhygienic, since bacteria can easily get in. The lid, which has the consistency of matte rubber, makes foundation smudges look really apparent, and started to peel on one of my bottles after about 2 weeks.

Overall, an okay product. Good coverage and finish, bad design. Opt for the pump-bottle.

This is my current HG Foundation I use it on special occasions or when I'm going somewhere fancy opposed to everyday use so it last longer since it's about $30.

    What I Like:
    PERFECT color match
    Excellent Coverage
    Bendable
    Smooth
    Matte Flawless Finish
It doesn't require a lot of product
    no breakouts

    What I Dislike:
It doesn't come with a pump and it's sold separately, I'd prefer if it came with one since it's $30

this is am amazing high coverage lightweight foundation. In fact when I went to try it out and had the cosmetician put it on me I told her I dont like foundation because it feels cakey and thick and crackely on my face and she said....oh no you wont have that with this product..........WOW was she ever right. If you have a small blemish or more coverage needed this is the product for you! It's the product for everyone! It's VERY light weight and it makes your complexion all the same. It's probably my favourite thing on my vanity! I'd never go out for the night without it.....it makes you look perfect :)

You have probably heard about this foundation by MAC before. This is my HG foundation and I use it everyday. It is AMAZING! The price is $31.00 but I got it for about $23 during MAC's friends and family discount (20% off). I think if it was the original price, I think I would rather go for Revlon's Colorstay (around $16). Both of them are almost the same quality but I like MAC's a little better.

Not sure if my skin is different from all the rave reviews so far, but I absolutely detest this foundation. It's heavy, does not look natural in natural lighting and worst of all, it oxidizes!

The oxidation is one of the recurrent problems I've had with all the MAC foundations and one of the reasons I won't buy them anymore. The color selection in store is great - I'm spot on for a NC35 and it looks fine at the time. However, as the day goes on and you start sweating, getting exposed to light, etc... your face becomes orange! I had this issue with Studio Fix powder and also with the liquid version. I thought the liquid was worse that the powder version.

Although I love MAC, their foundations are terrible for me for regular wear. If I need super thick coverage for a short period, then I can use it. Otherwise, steer clear!

This is my favourite foundation! It's all i will use. The coverage is phenomenal, the look is a natural matte finish... not unrealistically matte, but as natural as perfect skin can look.
The one flaw would be the colour seclection - i found my perfect shade and love it, but if you can't find a perfect match, it's too pigmented to fake it with the next closest shade. Regardless, it's worth a try for everyone. Stay away from powdering it down too much - you already get a natural matte finish and you don't want your look to be too thick. Photographs amazingly as well. Love it!
