I love how this lip stick applies! It glides on like silk and feels very moisturizing on my lips. It has a light texture that feels very comfortable to wear. Although I love how this lipstick feels, lipsticks are really all about the colour. The colour was not very pigmented. Even after applying several layers it did not become opaque and resembled more of a lip stain than anything else. Although I like lip stains and I do like how it looks as a stain, I really wanted a nice opaque orange.

I've been on the hunt for a trendy dark-plum lip colour that is long-lasting, not too smudgy and relatively affordable. (For a trend colour, I don't want to spend more than $10 in case it doesn't really work on me.) I'd heard some great things about the Color Sensational line by Maybelline and decided to try it out. I looked at some swatches and in the store I debated between Red Revival which is more of a pin-up red, but opted for Plum Perfect which is a matte finish, with great pigment.

It's more of a burgundy/brown than a true purple, but it looks gorgeous. It has GREAT staying power and can be a subtle, soft plum with one coat, or a really dark hit if you want to use 3 coats of it. I ate a whole meal and it barely smudged! I really like the versatility, that you can vary the extremity of the colour, and the payoff. This line has some shimmery colours too, so be careful whether or not the one you get is matte or not. It's a touch drying but that can be easily fixed with a balm.

They aren't drying, and the pigmentation is pretty awesome too. I did have to go around my lips with the tube a couple times more than I'm used to just to build up the full colour, and they're not the most creamy lipsticks I've come across - that being said I'd still go back and pick up more colours, no deal breakers for me !

I've really wanted to try the Maybelline Vivids since I first saw them because the colours are just so beautiful (even though I have never tried the regular line of lipstick from them). These little lipsticks are true to their name and they pack quite a punch of colour! I bought 3 different colours and they all apply nicely and are super pigmented.

One thing I really like about these lipsticks is that they are not shimmery! You get a creamy almost matte colour (but with some shine!) that'll last you as the day goes on. I wore them all day at work and didn't reapply often even though I drank, snacked, talked, etc, you get the jist! I found that they did make my lips feel a little dry at times and that I had the tiniest bit of feathering as time went on but I also wore them on a bare lip most of the time (never on top of liner and rarely on top of balm), those 2 cons I think are easy for me to over look though.

Although these colours are as their name states VIVID they are also surprisingly wearable! One of the colours I purchased is Hot Plum this crazy looking pinkish/purple colour but when I wore it to work it wasn't over the top or crazy and just looked like a nice lip colour.

I really like the bright orange packaging but I'm not crazy about them not being sealed so I would say just make sure the lip colour you pick up is in good condition before you buy, you obviously don't want something everyone and their mother has opened and tested.

I'm also not crazy about the $10.99 price tag (at Shoppers Drugmart anyway) but that can be avoided by waiting until a sale to purchase them or just finding the lowest price somewhere.

If you're looking for a lipstick that packs a punch or you want to try out something fun, something that has a bit of staying power I say go for it and buy one of these little guys!

I received this lipstick in the colour Hot Plum to test out and I am in love with it currently. These are going to be big come spring. They are true to their name, the colours are very vivid and bright. They aren't quite matte which is nice because they aren't too drying either. I love the range in colours in this line. I am definitely going to be picking up more.
