Although I loved the idea of a handle on a blender (no hand germs!) I still found myself holding the blender rather than the stick, to blend better (better pressure and maneuverability) and it felt like the blender might rip off if I held it by the stick. Otherwise the quality of the blender itself was quite nice.
Wasn't the worst thing I've used but it was not comparable to other makeup sponges in the game. If you are looking for a drugstore sponge I would go with the real techniques rather than this one. Left me a bit streaky and didn't grow when wet.
Thank you Product Review Club for letting me review the Maybelline New York Dream Blender. I found this to be an okay product. The design was a bit stiff and awkward to use. I did wet the applicator as per the instructions. The sponge still soaked up a lot of foundation. The head is okay for smaller curves on the face such as around the nose or under the eyes, but it's not the best for over all application. My feelings on this are mixed. It is definitely not comparable to the Beauty Blender, and I am not sure if this is supposed to be an alternate to the Beauty Blender. In my opinion it is not comparable to the beauty blender.
I received this product for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.
I have to say I was very excited to try out this product. However I was left somewhat underwhelmed and disappointed.
Initially I found that the blender make my foundation too heavy, so as suggested the next time I tried wetting the blender slightly for a lighter finish. The product did go on lighter. I did like that the shape of the blender and that the tip allowed for more precision application.
I find that the additional effort of using the blender is not worth the finished result. I find that my fingers have more control and are quicker at applying the foundation. I also found that as the handle was so short that my hand would be cramped by the time I was finished applying the make up.
Also, some product is wasted as it is absorbed into the blender.
I would not recommend this product and will not be purchasing it again.
I personally wasn't a fan of the maybelline New York dream blender. I found it wasn't the best shape for the whole face. It worked great near the nose and under the eyes but overall I found it didn't apply on as nicely. I prefer my standard blender I use vs this one. I would use this, like I said, just for the areas with creases because it does get into the area a lot closer then a normal blender. I don't think it's worth the cost though if I use it just for that. It was very smooth when applying and the wand is a perfect sis, just not for me.
I'm not a fan of the blender. I would much rather just use my finger to be honest.
I find that the sponge absorbs a lot of the foundation and leaves streaks.
It also 'gets caught' as I'm trying to use it
I did like that it got around my brows and nose
Not sure what the point of this instrument is except as a conversation piece. I think it works well if you don't already own a foundation brush, but I do, which made this blender left than ideal for my purposes.
Unfortunately this sponge just is not worth it. I hate to give a bad review when I was sent the product for free but just wanted to keep it honest. It's too dense and not boucy enough and the handle is on the best part...the boucy bottom end. I will use my beauty blender instead.
I was unfortunately not a fan of the Maybelline New York Dream Blender. I received the product free to try from ChickAdvisor in order to provide my review. While the sponge portion of the blender worked as expected, I would say average, the handle and sponge together did not work well. I found it hard to maneuver using the handle as it did not seem to be attached securely and almost flopped from side to side as I used it. I stopped using the handle all together and just held the sponge portion of the blender when I used it. I also did not find the tip made any difference when blending near my nose and eyes. In the future, I will be happy to stick with the less expensive blending sponges I can find at any major retailer or dollar store.
