I received Maybelline New York Dream Blender for free as a member of the product review club. Retail price-$7.99. You are supposed to use the blender with the foundation. Before use it's recommended that you wet and towel dry for lighter coverage. I did this upon initial application. The blender dries immediately so you don't have to wait around long. I really found there was no point in it. I applied half of the foundation with the blender the rest with my fingers. I just found it easier to use my fingers to gently blend in the foundation. Unless you are keeping the blender in its original packaging it does not come with a cover. Which is a bit silly because I wouldn't want to just throw it into a makeup bag exposed. I'd pass on this and wouldn't recommend you're better off using other makeup sponges or your fingers!

As much as I like the look of the blender I found it just felt weird in my hand to use. I didn't find the results any more improved over my regular spade shaped makeup sponges I use. The tip about making it damp for a lighter coverage seems like a good idea but I wasn't real happy with the results and felt the coverage suffered. Even trying it a few times didn't convince me it's worth it to buy. It's cheap enough to buy a bag of sponges when I need them and I find them easier to use and takes up less space in my makeup bag. Overall I wouldn't recommend nor would I purchase.
I recieved this product as part of the Chick Advisor product review club to test and review. I was very excited and had high hopes for this blender, but was a bit let down after using it. The blender is well designed, but isn't very effective - The shape of the sponge is perfect for getting into those hard to reach places, but the texture of the sponge seems to suck up more foundation than it blends, therefor forcing you to use more than you normally would. I would pass on this one, especially if you have used other high end blenders!
I received this product for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. The blendable brush helped apply foundation on my face and not make me look as cakey as normal foundations do. I recommend you need the brush when applying this type as without it, it may not look as good. Not sure how it would even work on other foundations but i wouldn't want to cross committee them too much without a wash.
I was lucky enough to receive this product to review from ChickAdvisor. I tried using this with multiple foundations and found a few issues: the blender is too hard to evenly distribute foundation, it is too small to use efficiently, and it soaks up my foundation. Nice idea but poor execution.
I found that it worked well but was easier to just use my fingers to apply foundation. I would use it if I really want to take time to do my makeup before a big outing, but in the morning I need quick
It ate to much of my foundation. I usually use my fingers or a foundation brush. I did use it with a highlighter instead and did like that. I like the idea of it but I have never been a sponge/ blender fan
I received a Maybelline New York Dream Blender for free to try out and review as part of the Chick Advisor product review club. I was not a huge fan of the dream blender. I think the reasoning I had issues with it is because I normally use a flat sponge type applicator to apply my foundation so it took some practice to figure out how to apply it properly with the dream blender. Once I got the hang of it, I found it worked okay. I probably won't purchase this again, just because I am more comfortable using a flat sponge or my fingers to apply foundation, however I would still recommend this to friends who are comfortable with a rounded applicator.

I kind of hate this beauty sponge - the concept was good and I do enjoy that the sponge has a handle which makes use fairly easy. However, this thing is too small, too firm and doesn't actually seem to absorb any water so, therefore, does not expand at all. I attempted using it as per the directions, going in circles to blend the foundation, but it just didn't seem even. Not for me.
Please note that I was graciously given this product to try as part of the Product Review Club.
The blender is ok. I like using it damp as opposed to dry. I dot foundation on my face first and use it to blend. I find that too much product gets absorbed if I apply foundation to the sponge directly. Rather than rubbing it into my face, I use the sponge to bounce it along my skin. I was hoping this would work as well as the Beauty Blender, but it does not. However, this sponge was great at applying foundation around my eyes and nose because of the pointed tip.
