My cat usually eats another brand of grain free food. I got a sample of the Prairie Red food and she LOVED it! She ate it like I was giving her special treats! It's excellent for her dietary needs and I will definitely be buying it.

so, i have 5 cats and i did feed them orijen (expensive, high quality brand). i'm glad this review offer came up and that i got chosen to try it for free(or better my cats).
i have to say they love it. the kibbles are smaller than the one i feed them from orijen ...also if i compare the ingredients they are close in protein and all that.
petsmart had nutrient subzero on sale and i also bought now the other flavour. and my cats devour this one as well.
i can't say anything about fur or so yet....i guess there will no big change, since i fed my cats already high quality food.
but nutrience is around $10 cheaper for same size bag and i like the small size of the kibbles.

well, you got me changing the brand...i hope my cats don't get tired of nutrience subzero(they did in the past with cheap food...and i had to switch all the time until i found orijen). so i hope that subzero is the one they like for month and month to come.

for pet owners that feed their pets a cheap food full of fillers and so on, the high quality food is well worth the price, as the cats need less and stay longer full because the food is rich in protein and grain free!!!! i really wish nutrience would come out with wet food.

We love Nutrience, and are currently using the Nutrience Naturals healthy adult formula with great success.... but unfortunately the new formula (Fraser Valley, SubZero for cats) did not work for us due to the small kibble size. My kitty seems to enjoy it but she consumes the kibble whole (rather than chewing on them) and then gets sick immediately after...this is not an issue we have with any of the formulas that have a slightly-larger kibble size. Other than this factor, I think it is an amazing product though! I especially love the addition of the freeze-dried nutriboost bites..I hope they will make them available separately to add to the other formulas.

I love the idea of this cat food. I approve of the ingredients and I feel confident this is a nutritious food for my cats. Because we were switching from a different brand, I decided to introduce this food slowly, by mixing a bit with their current brand and then adding a bit more of the Nutrience at each feeding. Now I'm proud to say that my cats are grain free, full of energy, and I couldn't be happier

I have a 13 year old calico who has arthritis. I signed up for this product in the hopes of getting her on a good quality food that has added bonus of a joint supplement. The first couple of times that I gave her the kibble from the Fraser Valley Formula, she gobbled it up immediately. I slowly added the new food to her diet and so far so good. My cat does tend to overeat. However, with this food, she eats much less and seems completely satisfied.

I truly believe that you get what you pay for but I do find this cat food to be very over priced. There are many other good quality grain free brands that don't cost even close to this price. I know it has the added freeze dried raw pieces, but I personally don't see the benefit as those pieces are extremely tiny.

I received a quantity of Nutrience SubZero CAT Fraser Valley Formula for free, for my two cats to try. My cats are ages 6 and 5.

My male cat, Tommy, enjoyed the aroma of this cat food, even before it was dished out for my cats to try. He kept snuggling up to the bag of food and nuzzling it.

When I dished out the cat food, Tommy (age 6) took to it right away . My female cat, Amber (age 5), took a little longer to venture over to the bowl and try it, as the kibble size was a little smaller than she was used to eating in the past. The food was fresh and crunchy, and both cats enjoyed the aroma and taste and returned back to the bowl each day that I dished out the food.

Since feeding Nutrience SubZero cat food, both cats appear to be more energetic and playful. Their coats and skin were both good to begin with, and are still very good.

When choosing a pet food, I look for more ingredients from natural sources. I prefer not to choose foods with cereals or 'filler' ingredients.

I would definitely purchase Nutrience SubZero and would recommend this product to a friend or relative.

A great food with great ingredients (we tried the Prairie Red Formula from the product review club). However, all 4 of my cats eat around the little square freeze dried pieces in the food. Not sure what they hate about them, but they are always left in the bowl.
It is on the pricier side for cat food, but they eat less of it so that brings the price per feeding down but there are other grain free foods out there where my cats will eat all of the food and not leave random pieces.

I was so excited when the Nutrience Cat Food arrived in the mail that I had to test it out on my cats right away! I have 6 cats so that is a rather fair size of a sample group in one home. The flavor sent to us was "Fraser Valley." At first, when it was poured into separate bowls for them, the cats were a bit hesitant to try it - they came towards it, sniffed, some took a bite or 2 and then walked away. It was left out in the bowls for them, but after a few days I noticed that unfortunately it was not being eaten. I poured out some more, left it out for another few days, but still not luck. Finally, I decided to mix it with their regular cat food, and that did the trick! So overall, it seems that none of the 6 cats were too keen on the taste of this product, however, when mixed with their usual food, they ate it - seems like a good way to sneak in some nutrients! I will not be purchasing the Fraser Valley kind again, however, I may consider purchasing a different flavor. Despite my experience, I would still recommend it to others - if your cats don't like it, consider mixing it in with their favorite snack :)
PS: thanks Chickadvisor for the surprise in the mail along with this cat food!

My 9 year old cat Rocky got to try the Prairie Red subzero food for the past 2 weeks. Although he was super interested when we first got the bag, he refused to eat the food at first. We did the progressive integration (added a little to his regular food then slowly put more and more in each day), but he would actually cherry pick and eat only his old food. Took about a week before he finally gave in and started eating it! I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but he seems like he's had more energy lately. I've caught him playing with his toys more and he's been playing with my kids more too (which they are pretty happy about). I must say that I was super impressed by the list of ingredients (it almost made me want to try it myself lol!) and I felt good for giving it to my cat. It's not cheap food, but the quality is definitely there. The only thing I would change about it is the size of the kibbles, I prefer when they are larger otherwise my cat just swallows without chewing and I worry about plaque build up on his teeth. Overall great product

I got the Prarie Red flavour and my adult cat (4ish years old) enjoyed it! He loves everything we give him because he likes to try new flavours / foods. After a day or two though, he didn't scarf it down as fast as he usually does. I'm not sure what it is, but maybe it lost its appeal? With that said, he still eats the whole serving, but he doesn't do it as fast as he did with his other food.

Unfortunately, my mature cat (about 8 years old) threw up multiple times within hours of eating this. At first, we thought it was a one-off, but we tried feeding it to her a few more times and got the same results. We can tell she's not a fan of it because she doesn't really eat it when we pour it in her bowl. It's quite unfortunate that this happened because the bag says this is suitable for all types of cats.

Please don't let my one cat's experience ruin this for you because my other cat showed no signs of discomfort or dislike. It's a definite must have if you have cats under 7 or 8 years old!
