I was looking for a pair of cut resistant gloves for my boyfriend who lays ceramic tiles for a living and injures his fingertips almost on a daily basis while cutting and grouting the tile.

He has tried a few different brands and they have either been too thin or too thick to work with. These fit his hands snugly and he thought that these didn't inhibit his working at all and no more cut fingertips. I purchased these at a discount from Amazon and both my boyfriend and I are super happy with how well these protect his fingers.

I'm somewhat of a klutz and as a result both my husband and mother have always been nervous about me handling knives. This nervousness rubbed off on me and as you can imagine, when holding sharp objects being nervous isn't good. I've seen these kind of gloves before, but was dubious about their claims.

Well, colour me surprised! I tested them initially without putting my hand inside and then more forcefully with my hand inside once I was sure they'd work. I'm sure my knives aren't the world's sharpest, but they held up perfectly with no sign of distress or cuts on my hand or the gloves themselves. I'll definitely be using these as an extra safety measure from now on.

The medium gloves are a great size and fit my medium hands perfectly (sometimes medium is made on the smaller side, but not here) and are very comfortable to wear and use. I really didn't believe that fabric could protect your hands from knives, but I'm forced to admit my error!

If you're looking for cut resistant gloves, these do the trick.

    Cons:
    - Could benefit from non-slip pads on the fingers to help hold slippery utensils.

These gloves are lightweight, yet heavy duty all at the same time! They are perfect for anyone who cooks from scratch a lot and would prefer less cuts and nicks while prepping food, or for the outdoors person who filets fish or takes care of their own “game” after a hunting trip.

I have even used these while grating cheese or vegetables, as I find my knuckles tend to hit the grater. Cooking should not be a painful experience!

So far the gloves (and myself) have not endured any damage, despite me intentionally grating my knuckles on the grater, fileting what I thought was boneless chicken (turned out to be bone in), and using my Butcher knife to test out the protectiveness of them (see pictures below – I put a soft foam make up applicator inside the glove, and despite a full force chop, the foam did not even get a dent in it!).

My hands are small, so these aren’t totally snug, but they also aren’t too loose – so I can wear them and my brother in law can also wear them (smaller man hands) – they are too small for my husbands hands though, so I am left with the fileting tasks.

I even stabbed the gloves (without my hands in them), and the material did not break or wear down.

I find while wearing them that they breathe well and my hands do not sweat or feel too warm.

For washing, I just use sudsy water and let them air dry as I normally do with special materials. They have not lost their grip or dexterity despite washing them several times.

So overall, I am happy with the quality, and can see them lasting for many years to come.

*** I received this product at a reduced or no cost for my fair and fabulous review ***
