Dim Sum, but make it Vegan
Delicious vegan, gluten free dumplings that are ready in under 10 minutes.. I stir fried the Plantropy Jackfruit Dumplings in a pan and then steamed them. I found they needed to be cooked slightly longer than what the packaging stated, but we’re ready in less than 10 minutes from when I took the box out of the freezer. I enjoyed the texture and flavour of the product. These are perfect for an easy lunch, great as a snack, and make a tasty appetizer.

Delicious vegan dumplings
Thank you @thisisbutterly and @plantropylife for the opportunity to try this vegan Jackfruit Dumplings.
Each pack comes with 14 dumplings, so I pan-fried 8 and steamed the rest.
Although the instructions say to pan-fry for 2 minutes before adding 2 tbsp of water, I added 4 extra minutes to get the brown and crispy skin I prefer.
The dumplings are very good, comparable to meat dumplings. However, I am quite disappointed that they have some 🌶️ (not listed in the ingredients other than ‘Spices’), so there’s some heat, and my kids cannot get to try them.
Overall, if you are looking for soy free, gluten free and vegan dumplings and love some heat, I would recommend getting this.

Plant based dumpling
I enjoyed munching on Plantropy Jackfruit Dumpling. It has a nice flavourful taste. The texture is also pleasant. I prefer potstickers than steamed. The filling is very satisfying, although it didn’t taste like chicken to me but I still enjoyed it. The wrapper could improve as it sticks to the steam liner. Love that it is rich in fiber, and free of sulphite.

Jackfruit dumplings from Plantropy
I do love dumplings, but I have to say, the texture of the jackfruit dumplings from Plantropy wasn’t really my favorite. It was a bit different than what I’m used to, so I had to add some Szechuan sauce to give it an extra flavor boost. The sauce definitely helped, but overall, I’d still prefer a traditional vegetarian dumpling over the jackfruit one. It was okay and I’d be willing to try it again, but honestly, it just didn’t win me over. If you’re a big fan of jackfruit, you might enjoy it more than I did!

Good for a craving fix if you’re vegan!
Overall a good substitute for dumplings/gyoza/mandu when you’re vegan and craving it. The shape is good but they could be a bit bigger and there could be stronger favours through the use of more spices. Use of your favourite dipping sauce definitely helps make it a more authentic experience. The mouth feel is a tad softer but if you pan fry or add other textural elements, it’ll balance out the dish.
