There's definitely a trick to using these.
I'm not sure why cold sore products are so dang expensive, but this one is no exception. I find this product to be a wonderful addition to my arsenal of cold-sore fighting weapons. The thing I find most effective at drying up a cold sore quickly has always been rubbing alcohol. After I've applied the alcohol and let it dry completely I'll pop one of these bad boys on (carefully because they're pricey) and go about my day. They don't last well through eating and drinking unless you're careful but they definitely add a layer of protection between the sore and the outside world. I especially like them for my daughter because I can apply it in the morning before she goes to school and at least there's something helping to fight her cold sore throughout the day.
fonctionne bien
Doesn't quite match the hype
Used this product. Has some pros, has some cons. Wanted to try it so I shelled out the cash. Value yeah I guess. Pros: fantastic at hiding/camouflaging a cold sore/fever blister as long as your lips are BONE DRY; does it actually speed up healing? Individual opinions will vary. Personally I didn't find that to be the case.
Cons: can't lick your lips, wear lipstick, gloss, chapstick , drink or eat without constantly replacing. Your choice.
Pricey
It definitely gets the job done. I wish it wasn’t so expensive though as this stuff does not have a long expiry time. It is very convenient compare to the ointment. I like to put it on at night when I get a cold sore. It’s visibly reduced by the morning.
Effective, but too expensive
Not sure if it helps to heal faster, but definetely makes you look less gross. No one can tell if you're trying to hide a pimple or a cold sore. ;)
It is quite expensive though...
Just use lysine tablets w topical cream
I've gotten cold sores throughout my life to varying degrees. They used to dominate my life until I started using lysine tablets which lessened their frequency almost entirely - which is to say that I no longer get them nearly as bad. I got a small one on my lip and tried this product as the drug store was out of abreva. Instead of 'hiding' the sore I found it just kind of made a 'look at this' bullseye around it. And at $25/pack I felt my money go down the drain immediately as I found I wasted at least 2 patches in the process of trying to apply them, the applicator is impractical and difficult to use. I believe the only reason the sore has diminished quickly is bc of my lysine use. No short cut around cold sores that I know of, other than that. This product is just aggravating - I never post product reviews and felt the need to about this one out of frustration.
Not wow !
I won't buy this again
Product is not as great as it seems and is not worth the price you pay. You can still see the coldscores and it does not take the away faster if anything it seems longer.
Meh
I get cold sores all the time usually brought on by stress, using too many facial products, thinking about cold sores etc. (I am very prone to them) I have had them since I was born pretty much and I have tried everything under the sun. I had gotten this hoping it would help but kinda made it worse. I made my cold sore larger and a lot more gross looking. It actually took longer for it to heal and I had to go to my Dermatologist to get medication for it. Crappy it didn't work.
