13 minutes and battery dead then overheating

I have been given the chance to review the PWR POD 20V MAX 2.0 Ah Battery & Charger Starter Kit through Butterly. The battery took 50 minutes to charge which was fine, however within 13 minutes of low power usage the battery was dead and very hot! I used the battery to power the Mastercraft Cordless Handheld vacuum on my hardwood floors. Unfortunately the quickly draining battery (used on the low vacuum setting) did not allow me to complete my task which was very annoying. Once I went to charge the battery it showed it as overheating so I needed to let it sit for 20 minutes to cool down before recharging which further delayed my task. Everything was done correctly, I read the manual and followed directions. It seems that I either have a defective product or the system perhaps needs some tweeks? Very unfortunate as the products that use this system have been wonderful.
