Waffles

I got to try out this pancake mix over the weekend and it was really great and easy to use. I did have to use eggs, milk and vanilla syrup but outside of that, it was great. Texture wise - it was different as it's made with wheat flour. I used it to make fresh blueberry waffles. Going to try again this weekend to make pancakes.

Not what I expected

I envisioned the Sixteen Grains Purple Pancakes would be purple or blueish having blueberries as one of the ingredients but upon opening the package, I was surprised to see the mix looked like any other pancake mixes. Initially I was a little disappointed thinking these would be unique having “purple pancakes” on the label.

We made these pancakes as a family with our son helping crack the eggs, pour milk, melted butter and mix in the ingredients. He also wanted to throw in some chocolate chips to make the pancakes more fun and delicious.

Overall I’m happy about the ingredients being simple and clean and they tasted good. We really enjoyed them and would buy again.

Delicious

The texture turns out soft and fluffy, and the natural purple color makes breakfast feel extra special without being overpowering. It’s easy to prepare, doesn’t taste artificial, and feels like a wholesome option for mornings.

Okay. So I am always up in the air if my kids will eat something “new” or “healthy” but they LOVED these pancakes! They were a great texture, great taste and so easy to make! Love love love

Purple Pancakes is yummy and filling!

The pancake mix indicates that it's made with Saskatoon berries, which provides the purple part of the product's name.

I poured the product into a mixing bowl. I liked how fine the mix was.

I did something different after seeing the texture of this pancake mix. I thought it would be better as a loaf. I changed course by adding water, maple syrup, and bacon to the mix.

I also didn't want to put it in a traditional loaf pan because it may take longer to bake given how tall the loaf would rise. Instead, I used a 9 x 9 silicone baking pan.

While mixing this mix, I love how fluffy the batter got. It mixed well.

I put it in to bake in the oven at 375⁰F for 45 minutes. It smelled good. The tip was crispy. The interior was moist. I loved the different textures.

The purple colour was extremely faint after my loaf was done. The berry flavour was extremely subtle. I wish that there were more Saskatoon berries in this pancake mix.

The bacon helped bring out the yumminess of the pancake mix flavours. The maple syrup and water helped with the moisture. The grains kept me full and satisfied.

This pancake mix was great. I'd put in blueberries next time and make this loaf again. I'd also make traditional pancakes. I'm sure they'd be excellent.

Proof You Don’t Have to Settle for “Meh” Pancakes

I’m pretty picky when it comes to pancake mixes, so I’ll be honest — I wasn’t sure how these were going to be. But they’re actually so good. Soft, lightly sweet, and they don’t taste like you’re “settling” for a healthier option.

They’re made with Saskatoon berries, only four simple ingredients, and they’re Canadian-made, which I love. One package makes a full batch (around 16 pancakes), so it’s easy for busy mornings or feeding little ones without pulling out a million things.

I also love knowing that two pancakes are only 110 calories — it just makes me feel better about what I’m serving. Definitely one of those things I’ll keep on hand and make again

Whole family loved

These pancakes were so easy to white up with my 7 year old. I found they needed flipping a little earlier than regular pancakes. I love the purple aspect with the added Saskatoon berries, however the purple was so slight it was hardly noticeable, I’d love it to be even more purple! Overall delicious and love that these are made from Canadian ingredients.

Naturally sweet and kids favourite!

We absolutely loved trying this berry flavoured pancakes. We loved the natural sweet berry flavour - my kids enjoyed it the most and it became a family favourite instantly! I love that it was made in Canada as well.

The Sixteen Grains Purple Pancake Mix created wonderfully colourful and delicious pancakes! I have never had Saskatoon berries before, and I felt that the unique taste of berry powder was very yummy! I like the simple, high-quality ingredients and the fact that they’re easy to prepare, perfect for family breakfasts, and pair beautifully with maple syrup and fresh blueberries. It was a sweet and wholesome start to my day!

Pretty Purple Pancakes That Taste as Good as They

We tried the Sixteen Grains Purple Pancake Mix, and it was easy to make and fun to eat. The batter mixed smoothly, cooked evenly, and turned into soft, fluffy pancakes with a beautiful natural purple colour. Lightly sweet and perfect with fruit and syrup. It is a great option for a fun breakfast or brunch. And yes, this is a win for my family because my kids really loved this👍
