The Godfather, Last Family Standing Board Game Reviews
#12 in Board Game

Description

It’s the adult card game you can’t refuse. Based on the original 1972 The Godfather Italian movie starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, Last Family Standing is the ultimate adult game. Just when you thought you were out… they pull you back in. Will your family have power over them all? Play from a hand of cards that allow you to form strategic alliances with the exchange of a rose… Perform actions that have you diving behind cars for cover… or take aim at your opponents to gain power and take on other players’ Dons. The last player standing in this fun game will be in charge. This adult board game is easy to get the hang of and only takes 30 minutes to play. For adults and teens ages 14 and up, get a group of 3-6 people together to play this family game for kids and adults. Play from a hand of cards that will allow you to bump off other players, duck behind a car, make alliances, and run off to Las Vegas or Italy. The player who is the last standing (still has at least 1 orange) wins! Oranges appear whenever death is in the air in the film. Next time you watch any of The Godfather movies, watch for the appearance of oranges, it means someone could lose their life. The Godfather is buying oranges when he is shot, scattering them in the street. Vito is peeling an orange before his death. There are even oranges foreshadowing the horse’s head and the death of the mob bosses. Remember, it’s not personal. It’s strictly business. This scary game is the ultimate new game for adults.

    Could be better...

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to test this game. I am a big fan of The Godfather, and was very excited for this game. I enjoyed the use of oranges as life tokens (great metaphor from the movies), and the roses for alliances were a nice addition. However, I found the game underwhelming. I would have loved if it wasn't so two-dimensional. The instructions were a bit unclear, and took a while to understand. I would like to see this game revamped and become more interesting, but I am very happy to have played and shared my opinion.

    Fun Game

We enjoyed playing this game while we had our adult family and friends over for a fun evening. We played this game, 3 out of 5 adults had not seen the movie or showed interest in the theme of the game.

Love the idea of the game but hard to play

So I thought this was going to become a go-to game for us but after trying to play 3 different times with different couples the game would be abandoned for something simpler and easier to understand.
