A very touching novel! I hardly put it down until I finished reading it. A great story and it's very well written. For certain part of the book, I actually laughed and cried as if I have known the characters myself and they were with me. Now it makes me really want to watch the movie.

A great read, that you will not tire of. Multiple first person narration keeps the book moving quickly and it is a touching story. A great airplane read.

One of my favourite books of all time, accompanied by an amazing movie. It reminded me of the book "Secret Life of Bees" because of the race factor. I highly recommend it to everyone of all ages.

Although the movie version of this is good, the book is way better! Both hilarious and heart breaking, I found it hard to stop reading. The book entertains with its wonderful characters while revealing some of the difficulties faced in the South.
