The L Word is pretty much the lesbian version of Queer as Folk, but not as good. It's still definitely worth seeing though. The dialogue is well written and realistic, and it portrays women very sincerely. I don't care too much for the abundance of cheating and affairs, but I suppose that's life. As my husband says, based on personal experience, women cheat and lie. About as much as most men do. Which from what I've seen, is true. But that being said, I like some of the characters and there are some good and loyal characters here. Shane is my absolute favourite. I feel so sorry for her with how she keeps losing the people she loves though. And it sucks they killed off one of the most likable characters on the show. Also, this show portrays that pretty much all lesbians go without bras. I don't think that's entirely correct, but it's worth noting.
