great base! I've never tried UD primer potion so I can't compare them but I sure know this base is great!
It makes your eye shadow stay all day even if it's metallic or glittery. Shadow will never crease or smudge. Even if you rub your eyes by mistake it will stay put.
It's definetly pricey but so very effective.
I have oily lid so this primer really helps my eye makeup stay on longer.A little bit goes a long way!!
Before reading this review, keep in mind that I’ve only tried one other eye shadow primer, however, I can’t imagine there is anything out there better than this one. Crease resistant, colour enhancing and not at all irritating. Some other reviews I’ve read said that this product is quite heavy but when I put it on I can’t even feel it. It is a little oily when you first dab it on but it dries totally matte and keeps your eye shadow looking fresh all day (or night). The best part is that you only need one tiny dot so the tube lasts a really long time.
I alternate between this and my MAC paintpot. This REALLY prevents creasing -- I wear my eyeshadow literally all day long -- sometimes 12 hours and it never fades or creases. A little goes a long way and one tube lasts forever. The one thing I don't like about this is that it's so sheer -- it doesn't cancel out the redness or veins on my eyelids, which I wish it did. I think they may actually have more than one formula of this now, so that's something to look into. I prefer this 100 times over UDPP -- that's too thick and gets all cakey and patchy on my eyelids. Too Faced Shadow Insurance is the way to go!
I absolutely LOVE this eye primer!!!! I paid about $18.00 for it at Sephora, which to some, is a little pricey. However, it is worth every penny!!! It is long lasting, doesnt crease, and definitely keeps my eyeshadows pigmented for hours. Just a small dab goes a long way, so your tube should last for awhile. Definitely works well for glitter and sparkles! :)
This is my go-to shadow primer. Shadows go on smoothly and fully pigmented, and they last crease & smear free all throughout my sometimes 18 hour days. It's a little pricey ($18), but it's well worth it! My only complaint though is that the last couple of times I've gone to use it, all that comes out is this really runny liquid. I'm assuming the product separated, so I always shake it before I use it, but that just doesn't help. Perhaps it's getting old..? Other than that, great product!
I have tried many eye primers but this one does really work and work very well. I highly recommend this to any one that has problem with eye make up looking fresh or eyeliner smudging.
This is my go-to primer and I'm on my third tube now. One tube lasts about 8 months, and use it almost every day. I prefer it over the Urban Decay primer potion, which I found creased more than my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. This product is smooth and only a very little drop is needed to cover both lids. It keeps my shadow vibrant and relatively crease-free. My lids crease no matter what but this product keeps the creasing very minimal and relatively unnoticeable.
The pros:
- Cruelty-free
- Paraben-free
- Highly effective
- A little goes a long way
- One tube lasts 8 months
The cons:
- $6 more in Canada than the US
Absolute best piece of beauty advice I've ever figured out; eye shadow primer. I've tested a whole lot of different eye shadow primers, but I always find myself returning to Two Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer. I have never had my eye shadow crease when I used it. Sometimes, especially during the summer, my eyelids have a tendency of being excessively oily, still never creases. It also helps optimize my eye shadow's colours. It retails for $18 - $24 CDN & contains 0.35 oz of product. This may not seem like much product, but to be VERY honest, a lot goes a LONG way. One tube can last for months. It's easy to get out of the tube, and get ALL of the product out, nothing will get stuck in there at the end. It's easy to use, very creamy and blendable. It's a skin colour that blends out seamlessly, you can't even tell its on your lids. It does even skin tone of the eye lids for those who have vein-y eye lids, some people get self concious about sometimes, so this product may help! It's a product I will continue to repurchase this until I can find something better... but I doubt I will! ;)
This Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer works great!
It's easy to use and keeps shadow from fading, creasing and smudging! :)
You don't need to use much and it saves you from having to clean up smudgy eye shadow messes.
