Does not disappoint!

I love mascara! I love trying new mascaras all the time, seeing the new innovations, improved performance and finding those go to formulas that never let you down.

I have to be honest, I have been a bit disappointed in a lot of the mascaras that I have tried recently, they just haven’t had the performance I am looking for. First thing to note is that I always, always go for a waterproof mascara, I have allergies, and tear up every time I yawn so I need a mascara that can stand up to this constant punishment and keep me looking great all day. Most of the mascaras that I have tried lately just haven’t cut it, they smudge, leave the that awful raccoon look under the eye, they flake throughout the day, and they just don’t provide a lovely coat and separation of the lashes, just clumpy.

So when Butterly and YSL sent me the YSL Lash Clash waterproof mascara for free I was so excited to give it a whirl, because you know I love trying mascara ;).

I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I mentioned I have been let down a lot lately for a great performing mascara.

Well let me tell you, the YSL Lash Clash did not disappoint!!

I have been using the YSL Lash Clash mascara for a week now, every day, and I have not had a single instance of flaking, smudging, or racoon eye. It has held up from application at 6am all the way through until removal anywhere from 9:30pm to 11pm without a change in appearance. It holds up all day long without any signs of failing, colour me impressed!

I love how it applies as well, the conical brush nicely applies the mascara to each lash without getting all over my eyelid creating a mess, it isn’t clumpy, doesn’t pull all of the lashes together into bunches, it just covers each lash beautifully and provides that beautiful fluffy full lash. The formula is also buildable so you can easily work with whatever look you are going for by just adding another coat.

I was also thoroughly impressed with how soft my lashes were with the mascara on, I mean touchable and soft, not stiff or crunchy, just soft and pliable, quite a nice feeling I have to say. The formula contains iris extract and safflower glucoside to nourish and fortify the lashes, I love a mascara that does double duty and cares for the lashes themselves.

I know that a lot of people don’t like waterproof because of the removal factor, but I found removal extremely easy. I do use a waterproof makeup remover, however I found that the YSL Lash Clash mascara did not require a lot of work to remove, it really didn’t. I put my remover on my cotton pad, held it on my eye for a few seconds and 90% of the mascara was removed in that one action, a second wipe removed the rest.

I am impressed so far, I am curious as to whether the performance will remain consistent as time passes, with the changing of the weather, and the mascara is exposed to more oxygen, applications, and in and outs of the tube, for this only time will tell. For the moment I have a new mascara to add to my makeup bag!!

My thoughts:
I think my favourite part about this mascara is the large width of the tube. I found it way easier to grip and apply the mascara. The brush does have a lot of bristles to help catch and coat each lash. I found that I didn't have to go over my lashes as much. I like that it is waterproof and heatproof for those hot, humid days and the emotional ones too! The mascara didn't clump or become dry/crusty on my lashes, which was great! Overall, a great mascara!

Real Volume

The Lash Clash Waterproof YSL mascara does exactly what they are advertising. From the packaging of the mascara, you can already tell that it’s high quality. Super easy to open and use. The mascara wand is a kind I have not used before, but it definitely gave me the lift that I like. I did find that you have to apply it very quickly because the consistency is on the thick side. Apply quick so you don’t get clumps of mascara on your eyelashes. Worn it for 2 hours and I still haven’t gotten any smudges. Worth it!

Defined & Bold Lashes!

I recieved the YSL Lash Clash Waterproof Extreme Volume Mascara completely free to test and review. The container won't get lost in your make-up bag, it is large and bold. The applicator feathers out lashes, for a defined and bold lash look that is waterproof and durable. I enjoy a black finish, with volume and this mascara delivers! I will definitely wear this for evenings out, and would highly recommend to try this mascara.

Great brush for volume

I really liked the brush on this mascara and felt that it provided a good amount of separation along with the lift and volume. The packaging is nice with the raised YSL letters in blue to show the waterproof formula. The formula did not feel too thick and no smudging throughout the day and it came off fairly easily with makeup remover. I think this would be great for special events, travelling and other long wear situations. ( I was gifted this product for review.)

Solid waterproof mascara

I received the YSL Lashclash Mascara free for from Butterly in exchange for my honest review.

On first impression, the packaging looks nice but is a bit thick, making it a bit awkward to hold while applying. The brush itself also feels a bit too large, making it difficult to apply with precision. It took several layers to fully coat my lashes and the result was a little grainy but overall pretty good for a waterproof mascara. The extra volume was quite good but there wasn't as much added length as I would have liked. After letting it dry, I splashed my face several times with water and then dabbed my eyelashes dry with a tissue and only the tiniest black specks came off, there was no running or smearing of the mascara at all, so it is quite good as a waterproof mascara. However, it was also very difficult to remove the mascara at the end of the day- I double cleansed with a cleansing balm followed by makeup remover face wash and that wasn't enough, I had to do another round with micellar water and face wash, and there was still some mascara clinging on. Overall, this is a great waterproof mascara but because it was so difficult to wash off even with oil-based cleansers, I would save it for occasions that I really needed my mascara to be waterproof.

Great volume

I loved, loved, love the formula for this mascara! I’m not usually a waterproof girl. But this made my lashes look amazing! It was great for work! I had a 17 hour work day yesterday and it didn’t move an inch and looked perfect all day! 10/10 recommend!

Lovely lashes with this mascara

Received the YSL Lashclash Mascara in waterproof black free from Butterly in exchange for an honest review. This was my first time trying a YSL product and I am very pleased with it. It applies so easily and smoothly with no clumps which is important for me, and it really helped to lengthen and add volume to my lashes. The color was great, a classic black, and truly is waterproof. This is an essential for anyone who likes to wear a little mascara to the beach or gym as it will definitely hold up!

Good length

I really like this mascara because it gives my lashes a lot of volume. I like how it's waterproof because I have very leaky eyes and it does not smudge.
