I loved my meal at Il Fornello! I had this amazing pizza with pulled pork and some olives and cheese... drooollll

Then for dessert I had apple fritters and hazelnut gelato that was to die for! I really loved the dessert- the comination of super sweet and refreshing hazelnut and the hot and cold was surprisingly yummy!

The service was a bit slow, but forgiveable since it was pretty busy. It is a bit on the pricier side especially for a student like me but for a really good dinner, a birthday or special occasion it is definitely the place to go.

Despite there being an excellent waiter who waited patiently as I sifted through the menu slowly, there is not much I can say about the restaurant.

Though I've only been to this one location, I do not think I will be returning. The food that was served to us turned cold upon arrival, and the taste had nothing..special that I could parcticularly talk about.
It was basically just
well cooked pasta (al dente!), tomato sauce, and some sausage.
Something I can make at home.

It's all about the patio...there's something about sitting and watching the sailboats pass by on the lake front that is very relaxing! Even better with a nice glass of wine or a martini. The food at Il Fornello is always great, but it's the atmosphere that keeps me coming back to the Queens Quay terminal location.

I agree with the other reviewers, the food at Il Fornello at Queens Quay is not the best in the city but it is definitely good. I am sold on the patio though, I love the view of the Harbourfront from here and the service is impeccable.

We ate at the location at Queens Quay and York st. On the patio, we were right beside the water. I thought the food was delicious and not as expensive as I thought it was going to be. The service was quick and well worth it

I agree. Il Fornello is decent eats but certainly not top 10 in Toronto. I was there yesterday with my inlaws and noticed the Zagat rating and thought, how is this possible? We eat here often enough because of the waterfront location, which has a really nice view, but I'd say the food is just good, not excellent.

For two people I recommend the mushroom arugula salad with one of their thin crust pizzas and a glass of wine. In the summer, you must go next door to their partner restaurant, Lago, which has wooden benches with blankets so you can stay cozy while you look out onto the lake. Expect to pay about $80 for two people including taxes and tip.

My favorite location is the one at 207 Queens Quay W for the view and the walk along the boardwalk:
