where our junk go

It has been a while since I went to value village but since the pandemic our house is in dire need of decluttering. I like the fact that I can donate my unwanted items there and they sell it and give profits to charity.

Overpriced junk

I used to love shopping here until I knew better. They have a great variety of merchandise making it a fun place to browse. Their prices however are ridiculously overpriced. I could buy brand new clothing for cheaper in most cases. They do not seem to test their products at all since nearly every piece of electronics I've ever bought there straight up just doesn't work. There are far cheaper more reliable places that actually donate profits, I definitely recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been shopping at my local Value Village for a long time now and ive never really been too impressed. A few years ago you used to be able to find some really great deals from clothing and shoes to house decor and appliances. i have noticed that the prices just keep going up everytime I go there, like they have used items but the prices dont match. I havent shopped there in quite some time because some of the prices are outrageous for used items! I was looking at a small glass vase and the price tag said .69 cents.. so I said okay ill come back in a few days and grab a few things...I come back 2 days later and the price tag was changed to $2.99! for a small glass vase that was used!? no thanks... Ive also seen some clothing items that you can tell have been worn several times and they are asking 17-23$. Im sorry but I hope they realize you can find this exact same shirt brand new for less than 10$ at another store? I thought it was a thrift store...? Just not impressed. lol

I find that Value Village is really hit or miss. There have been times when I find a ton of things at a reasonable price, and then there are times when I go and everything seems to be broken, stained or extremely expensive.
I keep going in hopes of finding those bargains though!!
