This was my favorite line of primers from Make up for ever; however, these have since been discontinued and reformulated, which is a shame because they were my go to primers! These primers were hydrating and were effective in increasing the lasting power of my foundation and worked well with my combination skin.
I own the blue one, which is supposed to give your skin a porcelain finish if you have fair skin. I am not sure if these are still being produced, I bought this about 3 years ago (and still haven't finished it!). It has a lovely scent and definitely goes on light blue when you apply it, so it's definitely giving you that base, which is what a primer is supposed to do. Make up stays put when you have this primer on underneath. I didn't notice a "porcelain finish" to my face after applying foundation overtop.
I'd likely try another kind of primer next time, and not purchase again.
This is what we use at makeup school. Makeup Forever is an all around good company where I find it hard to go wrong with any of their products. I love the green undertone primer and the clear one. Those were the ones that were always most used up in our class. I did find they gave more slip to applying makeup and smoothed the skin surface out. I'm not sure how long it hold up though. At least an hour for sure.
I got a sample of the one for dry skin and really liked it. I had my doubts because it didn't seem as thick as other primers I've used but it worked and didn't break me out. The price is a bit much so I'm unsure if I will purchase a full size. I need to sample some other kinds before I decide.
Very poor quality primers. NYX makes a better primer and it's drugstore, go for that one instead. These are a waste of money.
I really like this primer because I found that it glides on smoothly. I use the Green for redness. It is about 40 CAN dollars but I think it is well worth it. I tried pairing it with some foundations and it showed up green (even after I tried rubbing in the formula), but when you pair it with Tarte foundation- you can't even see the green at all. I would say this product is a must have. Primer just makes foundation look it's best and you definitely need to try a free sample if you have the option.
I love this face primer!!
I bought just the normal white one. And its fantastic! It hasn't caused my skin to break out at all.An upside is that when i use it i find i need much less foundation because the foundation doesn't soak into my pores so thats awesome. It also leaves my skin looking smooth and perfect after foundation rather then seeing everyone of my pores and fine lines. With the wide variety of options and the excellent results i think this is an awesome primer for anyone!!
I purchased this at a Sephora, and fell head over heels for it!
I got the green one because my skin suffers from red spots from time to time.
It covers every spot, and makes my face look even and fantastic! It helps my foundation and other make-up bond well to my skin. Even though it is a green color, it blends well into my skin and makes my look's flawless. I absolutely love this product!
I needed a primer because of my dry skin, and I heard that the product itself is great to use to get rid of flakiness. I purchased the purple coloured one, to get rid of yellow tone (as I am asian, and sometimes it becomes so apparent, I look like a Simpson's character!).
I found that the primer did not work in any way that I wanted it to.
In fact, upon applying this under my foundation, my skin appeared grey, and I looked quite sickly. Possibly it is because I bought the wrong kind of primer colour, and should look towards a more neutral one.
However, I also found that not only did it not moisturize my skin, but there was no different feeling after applying the product. I didn't feel any smoothness that I usually do when using other primers.
The scent of the primer was quite nice however, it smelled fresh like cucumbers!
It didn't break out my skin, which I'm usually afraid of, as my face is very sensitive to any kind of makeup, whether oil based or not.
In the future, I will not be purchasing this primer again, and would urge you to consider and realize what kind of skin "problem" you have, and to be aware of its capabilities.
Nah! Not worth it! I don't usually use face primers, but i finally gave in, the girl at sephora talked my into it... and i used it one night, before going out, to test it's resistance and overall performance. I fouund my regular La roche Possay moisturizer does a better job at prepping my skin for my foundation. I should mention I use Mufe Hd foundation... which I love. I found that this primer caked up my skin. I took away from that beautiful finish the foundation gives me. It looked and felt heavy and didn't find that my make up lasted particularly well through the night.
I won't repurchase, in fact I won't be using it again.
