User ReviewsThis book really is a must read .. as someone else mentioned, its happy and sad at the same time. Without giving away the story; I saw this book as a big jigsaw puzzle, where peices were randomly put in their spots. So it is only once the book is finished and the final peice falls into place that you go Ooohhhh thats why he was bleeding, thats what they were hiding, thats where he went to, thats where he came from .... I rarely re-read books, only the ones I love the most, and I see this one as one I will re-read in the future. An absolutely wonderful story, well written and gripping. reviews This book is phenomenal. Words cannot describe how much I loved it. There is really nothing I can say that will really do it any justice – but I’m going to try – you really have to experience it for yourself. You know that feeling when you watch a really moving or thought provoking movie and it stays with you for several days (or weeks or months, or forever…) afterward? It affects you in such a profound way that you are unable to think of much else? That is exactly how I feel about this book. The story is so moving, the characters so lovable, the plot so rich that I am still completely engulfed in it more than a week after finishing reading. Neiffenegger’s ability to weave such a complex and interesting plot so seamlessly is simply remarkable. It is simultaneously heart-warming and heart-wrenching. This is without a doubt THE best book I have ever read. I will MOST CERTAINLY read it again (and again and again...) I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough. This is such a great love story, and as I'm reading books I don't usually feel much emotion in me to the actual book. This one was great at making me feel happy for them, feeling sad for them... and even hopeful at times! This is truly an amazing book. I love love love it! review It's been a few years since I read this book but it remains at the forefront of my mind when I think of books that I've loved. It's a longer book and a bit of an investment as a read. Plus, it skips around quite a bit, which means it may take some time to get into the rhythm of reading and you don't want to put it down for a month and try to get back into it. I remember being frustrated each time the story would shift because I had been so engrossed with that story line. But as soon as the next chapter started, I'd get engrossed in that. And the ending. Amazing. Read. This. Book. reviews I was confused. I like the story but there is so much jumping around. I kept thinking as I read that the author must be really smart to be able to keep track of the timeline and sometimes just thinking that distracted me from the story. I also felt the conversations to be a bit lengthy at parts. There were parts of the book where I just skipped ahead because I didn't want to read 3 pages of the characters sitting around shooting the breeze. It was a sexy book though! I like the concept and the relationship between the two main characters, but I didn't fall in love with it the way others have. reviews I couldn't agree more with these other reviews. This is easliy one of the best books I have ever read! I too was crying like a baby at the end of the book! Any writing that can move you that much is well worth a read! [ back to top ] This review is the subjective opinion of a ChickAdvisor member and not of ChickAdvisor Inc. Let me start by saying that this is my favourite book ever. It is so easy to fall in love with each of the characters. It was difficult to start, as i often found myself flipping to the beginning of the chapter to find out who was talking at the time, and where in time they were. I'm surprised it's not bigger of a hit than it is. I can only hope that when the movie comes out later this year, it's popularity will rise too. reviews I absolutely loved this book. It took me a little while to get with the flow of the book because of all the jumping of time periods. But once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. It tells an amazing love story between Clare and Henry and you get really drawn into the characters world. I highly recommend this book: buy it, don't borrow it. It is that good!!
