Verona - Toronto

My cousin and I had dinner here last fall before attending a TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) screening. The restaurant was jammed, but the manager kindly showed us to a table as soon as we walked in. At first, I was far from impressed with our waiter. When he first came by to take our order and we hadn't decided yet, he told us to hurry up because the restaurant was busy! Luckily we were in good spirits so weren't too phased by it. We ordered a salad, I can't quite remember which one, but it was delicious! I believe it had some pear in it. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was more than enough food. The portion was actually a little offsetting.

However, when the time came to pay, the manager who sat us earlier came to our table and asked us if we were celebrating anything. We weren't. She told us we looked like we were having a good time, and that DINNER WAS ON THE HOUSE.

My cousin and I were both astounded. We felt like we had gotten punked. We were like, "Ok, where are the cameras?" So, we figured the best thing to do take the free meal, leave a generous tip and get out of there before our luck got the worse of us!
