Bought this off of the Sephora website a few years ago, just when mineral make up was taking off. I don't recommend this product for dry skin ladies. The mineral powder comes off easily, there is no coverage and just makes you feel chalky all day. The only good thing I got out of buying a bare minerals package was their brushes which I use with the MAC mineral makeup. MAC's mineral makeup is a lot better, I have yet to try Sheer Cover.

I purchased the whole package, face wash and everything. Let me just say this make up was off my face after a few hours. Didnt give me hardly any coverage! So the face wash wasn't necessary. The mascara didnt lengthen my lashes half the time I didnt look Iike I was wearing makeup. still had color variations in my skin you could see the blemishes & pores and, it was over priced! Definately not like the infomercial! It made me appear pale. Might work for someone else but definately not me!.

I have been using Bare Escentuals on and off for well over a year. Some friends have great success and it makes their skin look amazing. I really love the glow it gives my skin. I have rosacea and breakout in little bumps after a few days of use. At first it also looks great on me but then I break out. I keep going back to it because it is recommended for those of us with rosacea. After some research I have finally found why this product does not work for me. It contains bismuth and it turns out that many of those with rosacea are sensitive or allergic to bismuth. The products including the Foundation Powder contain the pearlescent ingredient bismuth oxychloride as a hydrating agent, this is the problem.

My son's girlfriend uses this and it is beautiful on her. I am 50 years old and this product did not work well on me. It didn't cover the dark circles under my eyes and the acne scars on my face. This is apparently better for younger people.

Not really a fan. I feel like there is no coverage. I've given it a fair chance and I just don't like it. My face just does not hold on the powder. It looks like I have no makeup on even after I have applied like 3 coats. Definately will stick to the liquid foundation for full coverage. However the bronzer from bare essentials is amazing.

I have oily sensitive skin and my skin really did not react well to this product at all. I completely broke out and, sadly, it took me several weeks to confirm 100% that it was because of the bare escentuals line. Thankfully, I can still go and return some of the products at Sephora but the first kit I bought was from the Shopping Channel - and this stuff is not cheap...

The first problem I had was that I could not find a color match for my skin tone - I am biracial and so I am lightskinned (medium tan). The tan color was a little ashy on my forehead and it washed me out. Medium Tan was too dark - so I was really stuck with the tan color. The concealer loose powder really wasn't effective - it was either too chalky on my skin or it didnt provide enough coverage and ended up melting off anyway. That's another issue I had with this makeup - BARE ESCENTUALS IS NOT FOR OILY SKIN!!! Five minutes after the foundation sets I already start to look oily - I only tolerated it because with the help of a little talc powder it would look "dewy", which was good.

I really thought this was going to be my new makeup - but it made me break out and my skin was never oilier than when I used this. Thank God for Sephora and their return policy.

On the upper hand - Dr. Hauschka's makeup line is great and surprisingly there are dark foundation colors available. I had a free facial and makeover on Saturday at Market Organics and the makeup was great and it made my skin feel great and it looked so natural. I am going to guy buy it and will rate it after a few trial weeks of use!

My sister and I bought Bare Minerals on the same day during a shopping trip. While she loves this make-up I can't say that I agree! I was happy with it for about a week and then my face started to break out. If I stopped wearing it then I could get myself cleared-up. It claims that it is gentle enough to sleep in (although I wouldn't do this with anything) but I find it is not good at any time for sensitive skin. It also wears off. And it will come off on your clothes too. You simply cannot touch your face once you put it on.
The worst part for me was that the last few times I tried to wear this (I guess I was determined!) it turned into an orange color on my face as I tried to apply more for extra coverage. Not only does it not cover blemishes or even discoloration- it caused an orangey jaw line shadow. Simply terrible. I would be careful with this product if you have sensitive skin or any skin issues!

I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed in this product. It worked okay for coverage, but it made my face look dry and powdery. The biggest disappointment of all was that my face broke out so bad that I looked like I had an acne problem. Turns out the ingredient bismuth does not work for me. I will never, ever buy their foundation again, though I love the primer.

I gave bare minerals a great run... I do have oily/acne prone skin and the commercials said it was good for this type of skin, and would actualy help acne improve, etc,etc.... I have never had as much acne covering my face as I do since I started using bare minerals :( I've been using it for about 7 months, and I kept with it thinking that it couldn't possibly be the bare minerals that was breaking me out, since supposedly it's all pure, etc etc, you know everything they market it as. And YES i was washing the brushes religiously! So I switched around my cleansers/moisturizers thinking that had to be it.. I even used proactiv for a while, NOTHING helped. My face kept breaking out, was itchy at times, and seemed more oily than normal. I finally had to admit that maybe it was the bare minerals and stopped using it just this week. HOORAY! My face is no longer itchy!!! And whereas I'd been getting a new pimple practically every day, so far nothing!! The sad thing is my face is COVERED now in acne scars, I've never in my life have dealt with looking this way and I've gotta tell ya it's awful! :( I'm soooo self concious and try to hide from people :( It stinks.... I'm going to stay off the bare minerals of course and see how my skin is in a couple of weeks.... I just hope the scars fade soon.

So bottom line, bare minerals didn't work for me, it actually made my skin MUCH MUCH worse than it's ever been before, and i wouldn't recommend it for girls with oily/acne prone skin or large pores.... :(

I wanted to like Bare Minerals, I really did. Unfortunately the stuff tended to make my pores on my face look larger than they were, it also made my skin feel tight and itchy. Although I did not have a true allergic reaction, it did not feel very nice on my skin. The only thing in the kit that I liked and would buy again was the eye shadows and eye liner and face glimmers. These were extremely generous portions of highly concentrated products in very nice colors, otherwise the kit was a bust.
