It even comes in Maple Walnut!!!

No sugar added ice cream options are limited in Canada. Chapmans has not only set the bar high with the amazing flavour and texture of their no sugar added ice cream, they also offer a variety of flavours. I was beyond excited to find this ice cream available in my favourite flavour, Maple Walnut! Additional flavours include Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Black Cherry, and Butterscotch Ripple. I would love to see this product offered in some additional flavours like Strawberry and Pralines & Cream, but that is just wishful thinking 😉

So delicious, you can't tell it's sugar free!

I'm really picky about sugar substitutes. I can always taste aspartame, stevia, etc and I really hate the mouthfeel and aftertaste. I reluctantly bought some of this ice cream a few years ago because it was lactose free, and also happened to be sugar free. It tastes amazing! As good as regular ice cream - in my opinion, the Dutch chocolate flavour is even better than most chocolate ice cream. Can't taste the maltitol at all. My lactose intolerant family members love it, and although I can eat regular dairy I happily gobble it up too!

Do not give this to your children or loved ones

I’ve been eating low carb and treated myself to a small bowl of this ice cream. I even stuck to the 125ml recommended serving size! I must say it was delicious. Unfortunately I didn’t carefully read the ingredients to see that maltitol is like the third one listed - oh how I wish I’d known. I’m still recovering from one of the most dreadful episodes of stomach upset I’ve ever experienced, comparable to labour. The cramping, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and cold sweats seemed to go on endlessly. My life flashed before my eyes...I contemplated dialing 911. I wish I was exaggerating. It’s been 24 hours and I’m still afraid to eat. The intense pain has subsided to something like noisy menstrual cramps.
Only consider this risky treat if you’re not planning on going too far from the bathroom, and you’re confident in you’re ability to survive this degree of torture without suffering psychological trauma.

OMG... my I cream dreams have been answered!

Finally, I can eat ice cream again. After being diagnosed as pre-diabetic last year, I have had to reduce my daily sugar intake, which did eventually result in normal glucose readings.
But, I have had a very difficult time accepting the taste of artificial sweeteners and had to stop eating some treats all together.
So you can imagine my delight when tasting Chapman’s and not detecting the taste of artificial sweetening! This ice cream is awesome! Thank You Chapman’s!!

I can eat ice cream again!

I've been watching my blood sugar levels for a few years now, which means I had given up eating ice cream for way too long. Having a no added sugar option means I can enjoy a bit of ice cream with my friends and brings a little sweetness back into my life!

Oh...my...word...If I could write a love letter to ice cream, I would write it to Chapman's No Sugar Added! I try to stick to a low carb / low sugar diet and have really been missing my ice cream. Well, the heavens opened and brought me this beauty! So far, I have tried the Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Peanut Butter Crunch, Butterscotch Ripple, and Butter Pecan versions (yes, I love my ice cream!) My favourites so far have been the vanilla and chocolate. Overall, the flavours are amazing! Honestly, you would never know that these weren't regular ice cream. The calories are lower than traditional ice creams and you can completely work them in to diet plans as a treat. One thing to note is that they don't freeze as solid as a regular ice cream, so you can't leave the container out for too long, as it will melt quickly. I can't wait to try the rest of the flavours! It is a bit more pricey than regular ice cream, but I feel that it's totally worth it for people who have dietary restrictions like me. I am completely in love with Chapman's No Sugar Added Ice Cream!

Choose your flavour carefully. I love that Chapman's makes a No Sugar Added line of products. And, I'm a sucker for peanut butter, so when I saw Chapman's No Sugar Added Peanut Butter Crunch, I picked one up. I should have read the label a bit more closely. It was disappointing in that it wasn't peanut butter ice cream, but rather vanilla with a thin ribbon of peanut butter swirled down the middle of the container. It took a long time before I got any peanut butter. There were, however, a whole lot of peanut bits - far too many. And, having been in the ice cream for so long, most of the peanuts were on the chewy side. First time. Last time. I think I'll stick with plain NSA CHOCOLATE and add my own homemade peanut butter sauce.
