Creative DIY Decor

This was an excellent activity to be creative and keep for room decor. My child loved the chance to use her imagination and also be inspired by the art examples on the box. The lamp was a little smaller than I’d imagined, but a good size so that younger artists don’t lose interest while painting. I’d be interested in similar toys from Spin Master.

Creative craft for young kids

My 5 year old daughter was super excited when we received the Cool Maker Lovely Lantern Painting Kit in the mail to review. The product does suggest for ages 6+ but other than assembling the lantern, I would say this product could be used younger. The assembling of the lantern was a bit tricky, even though it is just a piece that goes through the center of the lantern. It pushed through too far and we ended up tearing the lantern. That is why we did not give it 5 stars. We were able to fix the broken part of the lantern with tape though. But other than that, it was a good product and my daughter had a lot of fun painting it and designing it. She said she painted a beautiful sunset on her lantern. It would make a great birthday to gift.

Cute, simple lantern

This is a cute product that would make a great gift or even as a party favour or activty at a birthday party. It includes a paintbrush and a row of 5 paints in bright colours. I'm not sure whether there'd be enough paint to match the vibrancy of the main background colour on the example on the box. The lantern wasn't too big; about 6 inches in diameter. The quality seems pretty on par with other paper lanterns out there. Notably, there was no string included or some way to hang it afterwards. The only thing I wish is that there was some way to recycle the paint pots. I understand the convenience of including them in the box except I find that with items like these that come with paint, the leftover paint doesn't end up getting used and the pots get thrown out, making it a single use plastic. It would be great if they could come up with a more environmentally friendly alternative to hold the paint! In the end, my daughter enjoyed using this product as would any other budding artist! I received this item for free from Butterly in exchange for my honest review.

Fantastic independent craft kit

My daughter, who's nine, really enjoyed this craft. It was a craft that was perfect for her to do on her own with minimal supervision. She did need help with set up as the paint kit was hard to open and we did end up with a slight mess. Other than that her only other complaint was the fact that the paint brush could have been better quality. I’ve purchased a few things from spin master including the beading kit and will continue purchasing in the future.

Great idea for crafty children!

My daughter loved painting the lantern! It was a little tricky to draw on for her so I created a design for her and had her fill in with the paints. Overall it was a nice unique craft.

Fun Activity for a Cold Day!

My daughter absolutely loved it! One downfall was the paint quality as the blue was very watery and would leak through and drip if we used it. This would make a good birthday gift for a younger child, or activity for a play date!

This lantern painting kit has been such a fun and easy creative activity for the kids! It comes with 5 vibrant colors that are easy for little hands (ages 6+) to work with, and the lantern pieces are sturdy without being frustrating to paint. My 6-year-old loved choosing her favorite palettes and seeing the colors come to life, and I loved that it was simple enough for her to do mostly on her own — minimal mess, maximum fun.

Perfect for craft afternoons, rainy days, or gifting. A great pick if you want something artistic and engaging for the kiddos! 🤍✨
