Lasts all day

I received this from chickadvisor to review. I like this low waste idea. Dove was one of my go to deodorant before this so I know I can trust the longevity. I don’t find it completely zero waste but it’s a step in the right direction.

Great idea - not sure about the implementation

The idea of refillable deodorant is great, and I love Dove products overall, but I am not sold on this exact product. I do like that it is aluminum free, goes on smoothly, and lasted all day. It has a sleek minimalist look, and it is easy to assemble.
Onto the negatives, first, it is very flimsy, and while it hasn't broken yet, I feel it might be breaking off the base soon. Second, there is still a lot plastic involved, which I think can be minimized. Third, I am not a big fan of the cucumber scent, in general, but others may enjoy. I also think it will be too heavy to travel with, as most airlines weigh carry-ons.

Great Concept - Effectiveness is subjective

My thoughts on the packaging of the deodorant is the same as my review on the men's one, love the stainless steel packaging and the fact that you can just buy the refill's and it saves plastic packing - win win!!

Effectiveness of the deodorant was ok for me - I didn't hate it however if you sweat a lot and are typically a bit stinky then this might not be for you since it is natural - you can usually smell yourself quite a bit.

The consistency is gel like and is very "sticky" feeling - I'm not a huge fan of sticky deodorants however they aren't deal breakers and since my t-shirts usually take care of that it was ok for me. Smell is a nice clean cucumber smell - I liked it but may not be liked by everyone.

The reason I gave 3 stars was because of it's effectiveness isn't what I personally like in deodorants and also mine broke after using it for a week and a half - the actual gel part broke of the base so it's basically unusable to me now which was a bit irritating.

Overall - I would recommend it to people to at least try out, I'm not sure I would re-purchase but I'm so happy I was able to try it out.

Great Quality, Poor Value

The Dove Cucumber & Green Tea Deodorant Stick Refill Kit contains the stainless steel case, and the cucumber and green tea scent deodorant. The scent is very fresh smelling, not too strong either. It’s in a very portable size, perfect for on-the-go.

The distinguishing factor between these deodorants and others is the environmental impact. These products come in packing made of 98% recycled plastic. The case itself is reusable, and the refills are available for purchase. These are also both aluminium-free and cruelty-free!

The only downside (I’ll admit it’s a huge downside) is the cost. The starter kit itself comes in at a whopping $19.97 at Walmart, and the refill kit (2 sticks) is $11.97. Also to note: each stick is only 32g, whereas the cheaper, regular stick is 74g! This is just not feasible for the average consumer. That said, if you have the extra money to spend, or can find a really good deal on these, definitely go for it!

Good quality packaging

The packaging on this product is very nice; very sleek looking. The deodorant for the female version smells very strong like soap. It’s not a bad smell, but I find it almost too strong. I use it before bed and by morning there is no scent anymore. I’m unsure if this deodorant would really help me not smell, as it seems to wear off quick. I will need to try it out more in the summer months. I will probably buy a refill so I can use it during the summer.

Bon produit

J'aime bien l'idée que se soit réutilisable et rechargeable. Par contre il brise très facilement après seulement 5 utilisation, le bâton où il y a le déodorant a brisé.

Fancy item in your bag

I liked the case the most but I'm not a huge fan of the cucumber and green tea scent. It smelled a lot like the men's version. I will say that the product glides on the skin well though.

Cute concept

This is a cute little deodorant, but I wasn’t too happy with the scent, it wasn’t to my liking. I love the packaging and that you can just buy the refill for it and reuse the outer part, which reduces waste and is better for the environment. I liked that it glides on smoothly and doesn’t leave any white marks. Not sure how powerful it is until I’m able to use it more in the summer.
