Ugh, I know another review. I have to get my mind out here, do not get me wrong I read all 3 in a week they were addictive. At the end of 3rd book I was there gawking going "What the eff did I just read?". Am I really reading a story about the cycle of abuse? Am I rally thinking this is okay that they are together? It is exactly pointing out all that goes through a persons mind during abuse... "but he got better", "but he loves her", "but she loves him".
After reading these books I feel so guilty and gross for being turned on.
Ugh - so overrated. This series was poorly written. While some of the sex scenes were interesting, it was over all bad. The characters were not appealing and it was a poor storyline.
This was badly written. Obvious Twilight fan fiction. I felt like the story had potential had it been in the hands of a good editor. But alas it wasn't. So boooo....
This is one of those guilty pleasures I have. I'm finishing the series now, and I can't help but notice the similarities between this and the Twilight trilogy. The characters are very similar. The girl who loses herself because she fell in love, blah blah. But for some reason, they're an addicting series. Something I'd read, but wouldn't brag about. Don't waste your money on them, borrow from a friend, or library (if they have it.)
This book was popular but not a GOOD book. Not one of those books you finish reading and need to sit for a while and think. Just full of fluff. I didn't even finish reading it as i got bored about half way though. It didnt hold my attention, and i don't understand what the big fuss about it is. If people like BDSM literature, i'm sure there are a lot more higher quality stories out there.
I read this series in 2 weeks. At first I couldn't decide if there was a story or just plain smut. BUT I knew there had to be more. I am so glad I finished the series to find out the why. I actually loved it!
Am I the only one who thinks these books were poorly written? The idea was a pretty unique and risque one - but all in all, it fell very flat. I am an avid reader - so the writing style came across and poor to me and sort of sloppy and disorganized... Sorry to the folks who loved this book series - it was not for me!
I could not get 1/2 way through the book. My firends/ co workers raved about the book so I tried it. Not my usual type of read. I am more Dan Brown type person. I had to toss it aside and find something a little more deep.. I truly will not add or keep to my bookshelf nor buy the rest of series
I found this series of books to be interesting enough to read but the sensual scenes seemed to be all the same. I skipped through a lot of them.
Ok, so first off, I worked at Chapters when the book erupted. Before it even hit the shelves, women were asking us about this book. It wasn't even in the system! I had no choice but to read the book since I had to "push" it in stores. I read one of the three. It wasn't "bad", but it was nothing to write home about. The story line is very weak, cheesy and unreal (come on, at his age, who can afford private jets and cars?). It is a "fantasy" to say the least, and it's actually sad that the women who came to the store to buy the second and third books complained about their husbands and compared them to Christian (really?!). I can go on and on but the bottom line is, this is not "erotica"--it is categorized as "fiction" and it's not "ohmygodineedtoreadthisbook" type of book. Just something to occupy you with for a day or two and move on.
