Meh, I would pass
Value wise, if you purchase this from Costco (at least here in Canada) the value is amazing at $20 or less for the size of tub you get, the small tubs sell for $12 alone. Some background on my skin, I have Eczema and extremely dry skin, especially on my legs so it is really hard to find a moisturizer that works for my skin, this cream came highly recommended so I figured i'd give it a try. My me this cream didn't really do much, it's an ok moisturizer, I will for sure use the rest of the rub however I wouldn't repurchase it. To start the smell of the cream is very "creamy" smelling which I'm not a fan of, it is very thick in texture and is really hard to rub it in, every time I feel like i'm going to the gym after rubbing this stuff in. I feel like it's one of those creams that sits on top of the skin instead of actually sinking in, I've found that if you leave your skin somewhat wet, it rubs in a lot better and easier. Overall for me I don't get the hype of it, it just didn't work for me at all.
it certainly works
I have been using this product for many, many years. My family doctor and dermatologist recommended that I use this Glaxo Base Moisturizing Cream when my eczema flares up. It does apply a bit greasy, especially if you apply too much. You should allow it to absorb into your skin for at least five minutes before you get dressed. I have noticed a big difference in moisture retention in my skin, especially if I have used it for several days.
The one con about this product is the smell, it is very medicinal.
Works great!
I bought this product a lot when my son was a baby. He was constantly breaking out in rashes from everything. This product worked amazing at taking those little rashes away.
This is my winter godsend!
This winter, like all others, I have the worst dry and scaly skin! I have tried everything from expensive 80-90 creams to the Pinterest hacks; nothing worked!
Feeling defeated I finally tried the Glaxal Base after being suggested it by the pharmacist, and wow, did it ever work!
After a few times of using it as a night cream I noticed a huge difference in the moisture retention in my skin.
Soulage les irritations
Ma grand mère est en perte d'autonomie et elle utilise cette crème contre les irritations du a l'incontinence. Une crème barrière qui agit efficacement et qui protège pour toutes les types de peaux
Kinda gross, but it works really well
It's slimey and greasy.
It makes me sweaty and slippery.
It smells like a hospital, which really turns off my ex-medic boyfriend.
BUT when it comes to moisturizing skin, thoroughly and all day, it is a PERFECT moisturizer.
My skin is so sensitive that friction makes me welt..."dermatographia."
Allergist had nothing better to recommend.
Comparable products have been impossible to find.
The big tubs of this product are sold at Costco for like $16 - not much money for months and months of moisturized skin.
I used to buy it behind-the-counter at the drugstore for $30.
Impressed
I have rosacea and lately my skin has been really red/tight. Someone had suggested glaxal base since it’s fragrant free and adds a barrier. At first I did not like the smell but it goes away and my skin does feel much better and soft
Works great
Glaxal Base was recommended to my son by his pediatrician. It works well and goes on smoothly. It absorbs quickly and leaves his skin moisturized. The only downside is the smell, which at first isn’t the best, but you do get used to it.
This was recommended to me by a pharmacist for sensitive/dry skin esp. during the harsh winter months. It's a multi-purpose thick cream for the hands, body, and face. Also perfume and lanolin-free. It doesn't irritate my skin. It almost looks like a generic cream. I didn't know it existed before and it has been around for a long time. It does have a strong non-nondescript scent if you don't mind.
