GluteGuard Review
I follow a gluten free diet for 8 plus years now. There has been times I have been contaminated and can definanly tell within an hour of ingesting. I will have GI affects from dirrhea to extreme bloating and discomfor, nausea. I try to avoid all food that could be contaminated but its difficult to avoid at times especially when eating out. I received a sample of GluteGuard product free from Butterfly to rate and review. I took one pill prior to accidental exposure. It was useful at social events and restaurants where I don't have control of those preparing and handling food. Also before products that could contain or could be cross contaminated with gluten. I did not experience any digestive symptoms after these foods when I took the pill. No side effects from these pills. I just have to remember to take them prior to exposure. I have not seen anything on the market to help with gluten digestion was impressed with this option. I would likely purchase them if accessible. I have already shared and recommended to gluten free friends.
Amazing , eat gluten and have no issues
I ate ALL Thanksgiving dinner, stuffing , dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie. All items were not gluten free. I had no celiac symptoms, after dinner or the next day. This pill is amazing. I also went out to restaurants and ate regular food off the menu, no special requests to the waiter and had no issues. This gives less worry while travelling or getting out on the town and maybe eating questionable items on the menu
Only for mild intolerance
I don’t have celiac but I’m intolerant, though I found the pills don’t help me enough as I still get super bloated and have to take Pepcid for my acid reflux to calm down when I take this and eat gluten, also the pills are hard to swallow they are quite big.
Feeling confident
The first time I took the pill it made me cramp a bit but I know I had something that was cross contaminated. The last few times I had no problems and I felt safe to eat out and enjoy my gluten free food.
A bit of extra assurance
I have celiac disease, and I started using GluteGuard for those situations where I’m not 100% confident the food is truly safe — like at restaurants that say something is gluten-free but don’t really understand what that means, or family dinners where cross-contact can easily happen.
One moment that really stuck with me was dinner at my uncle’s house. His husband swore the meal was safe because their niece also has celiac disease — but he’d used soy sauce in the cooking. I ended up violently sick that night. It wasn’t intentional; most people just don’t realize how hidden gluten can be in sauces or how easy it is for cross-contamination to slip in.
Since then, I’ve started using GluteGuard whenever I’m eating in places or situations that make me a bit nervous — especially when I’m with people who mean well but might not fully understand that celiac is not the same as gluten sensitivity. “Gluten-friendly” just isn’t good enough for me — it has to be absolutely gluten-free.
GluteGuard helps me feel more relaxed and protected in those unpredictable moments. It’s not a replacement for a strict gluten-free diet (I’ll never take that risk), but it’s definitely something I plan to keep on hand for meals where things feel a little iffy. Having that extra layer of defense gives me real peace of mind.
Nice to have if you follow a gluten-free diet
GluteGuard helps to protect against the symptoms of accidental gluten ingestion when used in conjunction with a gluten-free diet.
I follow a gluten free diet amongst other treatments for other conditions. It’s difficult to say if this product does what it is supposed to do as I didn’t really notice anything with these pills one way or the other. I did not take pills and purposefully ingested something with gluten. As far as I know I did not have any accidental gluten ingestions.
These pills did not make any of my other symptoms worse.
The pills were easy to swallow and did not get stuck in my throat. They are a nice to have but I probably won’t buy them as it doesn’t seem like I really need them.
I received this product for free.
Helps take the guess work out of meals
I received a free trial of GluteGuard. To test its effectiveness, I had a meal that I knew had gluten. Where I would have usually ended up bloated, with gastro issues and in extreme discomfort, with the GluteGuard, I had no bloating or gastro problems. I used it several times while out to dinner for meals I was unsure if and the product worked well. I do find I have an “odd” discomfort but something that’s very manageable and much better than the normal feeling I have after a gluten meal. I recommend this product if you have or suspect gluten sensitivity. It takes the guess work out of eating out.
Fantastic product
I am soo glad this product is available .
Since being diagnosed with celiac disease it has been very challenging dining out at different restaurants, not always knowing if gluten is in my meal.
Now in the event of accidental ingestion, I know GluteGuatd is there for me.
Thank You
Great idea not sure it works
I started this free product trial with high expectations that GluteGuard could help with cross contamination issues when eating out. However I’m not convinced it actually helped.
It is very convenient to take with you and quickly take one before eating. Easy to swallow too as it’s not too big.
I used this in a high cross contamination situation. I had the same item in the same chain each time. For clarification the item ordered is Gluten Free but not marked as such due to its preparation with shared surfaces and utensils.
I still had bloating later in the day and severe exhaustion. The following day I still had bowel issues. This to me suggests that GluteGuard did not work for me.
Now everyone is different so maybe it will help you but for this Celiac I didn’t help.
GluteGuard - Insurance in your pocket for Gluten
A no frills solution to prevent flare ups related to gluten insensitivity. I've tried this product on multiple occasions and it seems to protect me from different forms of gluten and leaves no side effects.
