We read this in junior high, and I remember being fascinated with it. People really did these things? I was so innocent. But now-a-days, I think this should be mandatory reading for middle schoolers.

When I was in grade 8 my jr. high required all students in my grade to read this book in English class. I did feel the topic of the book was maybe a little inappropriate and heavy for that young of age, but I understand why they made us. This book really stays with you, and really shows you the struggles of addiction and how it can happen to anyone. I think all teens should read this, and it for sure makes you think twice about some situations that teens often find themselves in.

A friend of mine lended that book to me and I really liked it.
It's hard to read and see what drugs can do to a person. It's hard to understand how a person that comes from a nice background and from a good family can go trough all that but I guess it can affect everyone. Even tough it's a teen going trough that I think it can be related to every group of age. It's a good book to read, even for adults. I recommend it to anyone.

This is a great book very sad and very destructive it is a story about the downward spiral of a teenager in the 70s.There was some controversy I remember that it wasn't true. But I enjoyed it very much I remember it really affecting me as a teenager and I couldn't get the story out of my head.I think they even made a movie out about it.

This has always been one of my favorites. Although it is definitely not uplifting, I feel like everyone can relate to some aspect of the author's life. Everyone at one point or another has felt like they don't fit in. (If you haven't, well, consider yourself very lucky!!) It is also a great cautionary tale of exactly how dangerous that lifestyle can be.

This book is very popular, I read it about 5 years ago, but it had a strong impact on me. This is not just a book for teenagers, it's a good read for anyone of any age. It is about a girl who experimented with drugs and the whirlwind experience she has. It is a diary of what goes on with her as she goes through this experience. I don't know anyone who's read it and not been glad that they had.
