Great Travel Option
While I love the concept and idea of a two in one bar. Plus the packaging and the fact it is biodegradable. It is the perfect product for those who are wanting great hair and are worried about the environment. A bar concept is also so perfect for those who travel.

Great for dry ends
Just tried the @jack59inc Weekend Edition travel bars and here’s the tea:
• Comes in a cute, compact travel case (bye bulky bottles!)
• Hair quiz on their site = quick + spot-on match
• Conditioner bar? Chef’s kiss — my ends are way less dry after 7 days!
Downside? Took a couple washes to get a good lather, but once it kicked in, it was smooth sailing. Definitely a win for travel-friendly, eco-conscious haircare!

My First Shampoo Bar Experience—My Thoughts
This was my first time trying a shampoo and conditioner bar, and I tested the Jack59 Weekend Edition Island Tropics Set for colour-treated hair.
What I loved: the hair quiz was super quick and accurate—it matched me with the right product for my needs. The bars smell amazing, and the mini compostable container is a nice touch, especially for the gym or travel. I also really appreciate that this is a Canadian-made brand focused on sustainability!
What didn’t work as well for me: I found the shampoo bar didn’t lather as much as I’m used to, and I had trouble gauging how much of the conditioner to apply. I personally prefer my usual liquid products at home, but for on-the-go use, this is such a convenient and eco-friendly option.
Definitely worth trying if you’re looking to reduce plastic and simplify your hair care routine while traveling!

Great product!
Jack 59 Weekend Edition shampoo and conditioner bars come in a convenient compostable travel container that has vents on the bottom for drying the bars between uses. The bars are easy to use, and smell fantastic. Mine were a citrus smell that was dreamy. My only complaint is that the packaging doesn't tell you which is the shampoo bar and which is the conditioner bar, so I had to use them both to figure it out. Other then that, the products worked well with my hair, cleaned and conditioned nicely, and left my hair feeling squeaky clean and shiny. These bars are super easy to throw in your swimming or gym bag to take with you - they are already in a container ready to go. An easy to use product that smells great and works well! @jack59inc

Love everything but the wrong type for my hair
I really enjoyed using this compact shampoo and conditioner bar. The small holes in the bottom side of the container help the water drain and it’s a great size for on the go and travelling without extra liquids. There’s even a 5 pack refill option which is great to help reduce waste! I found this set for “thick curly hair” was not great for my hair as my hair didn’t look clean the next day. I’d try the set for thin hair and see if it makes a difference. Overall a great, natural and sustainable product!

Must have!
These shampoo and Conditioner bars not only are a space saver they leave your hair feeling, refreshed, soft and shiny.
I was sceptical about using bar shampoo and conditioner, I always thought they would leave my hair dry and unmanageable. I was so happy that I was wrong. I love this travel set and plan to buy more sets for my camping trailer and gym bag.
Jack 59 has made it so easy to support a Canadian business with their products that provide amazing results! I love how easily I could find the best products for me with their hair quiz.

Perfect for travel!
What a cute duo! First off, love the hair quiz, super easy to answer and the recommendation is pretty spot on.
Let’s talk about the positives. I appreciate the container as it made storing and drying the product without any mess. There are holes at the bottom which so the bars are dried and stored properly in it. I wish all bar haircare comes with something like this.
I also love the shampoo, it lathered really well and did an amazing job at cleansing my hair. Bonus, it rinsed off easily!
Now to the not so good part, I am not a fan of the conditioner. It was really tricky to use. I tried running it under water in between my hands and it felt like nothing. Then I tried rubbing it through my wet hair and it also felt like I’m not getting anything. What I was successful in was dropping the bar onto the shower floor 3 times. So this was a no for me. I’m sure there is a better and easier way to use this conditioner but I’m not a fan so far.
Will purchase the full size in a heartbeat but the conditioner is not for me.

A great alternative to plastic at a great price
Butterly and Canadian company Jack59 have teamed up to send me a Weekend Edition Travel Set which includes shampoo and conditioner bars. Y'all know how I'm looking for the most sustainable life choices possible in terms of the environment, the ethical treatment of workers, and my pocketbook, so I am very happy about this opportunity!
I love the packaging and how practical this set is. The bars come in a compostable shower container with drainage holes, all of it packaged in a cardboard box. So 10/10 when it comes to product sustainability!
The set retails at CA$32, with refills costing $7.25 each. The website says that an 80 gram bar can be used at least 80 times, so the travel bar, which weighs 15 grams, should last 15 times at least. If 100mL of shampoo gets you around 10 washes (according to Google), and the average price for 400 mL of shampoo that five of my friends use is $15, it means that you are paying more for these bars. However, the friends I asked use shampoos like Dove and Shea Moisture, whereas it seems like a better comparison might be Aveda, which retails at $20 for 250 mL -- this makes Jack59 prices much more affordable comparatively. To top this off, the company's website says that the bars are made in Canada from ethically sourced ingredients, so with the above price comparisons in mind, I feel like these bars are a great deal.
But do they work? I did the hair quiz on the Jack59 website and got the Serenity Set and while it leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean, it doesn't work for my curls. I'm not sure if it's because I only got to use it for 7 days before having to post a review. However, there are 11 other options available, so I have a feeling that with some trial and error, I'll be able to find the right combination of bars for my hair. As for the experience of using a bar instead of a liquid, it was better to use a bar because I felt I had more control over where and how much product I could work in.
I'd recommend giving the bars a go. The website has a nifty travel buddies trial pack with five different bars. I'd suggest getting together with a few friends to buy a trial pack and trying the different formulas out before committing. If your budget is tight, you don't have to buy the travel set; just like any soap, you can just dry your bars before packing them up in whatever container you already have.

Perfect for Travel
Shampoo and conditioner in a bar?
Jack59 sent me their travel kit to try out. I have never used a shampoo in bar form before, but I liked this one. It was easy to use and lathered up nicely. My hair felt clean and refreshed after, and the scent didn't linger.
The conditioner was another story. It worked really well in terms of conditioning my hair, but it was harder to use. It was hard to gauge how much conditioner I was putting in my hair. I also kept dropping it. I feel if the conditioner bar was a bit softer, it would be easier to use.

Love this shampoo but small in size
love Jack59 serenity set which i choose from quick hair quiz. Vegan, gluten-free yet foamy when comes in contact with wet hair. It has made post gym shower very convenient as this duo comes with compostable case and can be tossed in bag for travel. Jack59 is Canadian brand even more reason to love.
