I got this in Caffeine Rush. It has some really nice colours - they're mostly bronzey/gold brown type shades. They are beautiful and the colours themselves would be perfect for daytime as well as night, but I do find that these are super shimmery. There's nothing wrong with that, but I don't always like to wear a ton of shimmer during the day all the time, so I would use these more for when I'm going out somewhere or at night.
The shades are laid out in order for you to use them, if you want to do the whole look (a base shade, lid, crease, liner, as well as a 'luminizer'). They work really well like that, as well as on their own or any other combination you like. They're also nice for doing a subtle smoky eye, as they blend out pretty well.
The sponge applicator that it comes with isn't as good as using some decent eye shadow brushes, but it's still good to have in the palette for emergencies.
I would definitely wear a primer with these (I have tried it with and without, and with is definitely better)! And there is definitely some shimmer fallout around your eyes, if you're not careful. But overall these go on well and last just as well as most eye shadows.
I got this "on sale" for $8.99, and think that was a decent price. It's got a nice variety of shades in each palette ( the purple, green and blue ones look really pretty), and the quality is good.
