I love Nivea Essential care product, so when I could not find it in the store, I decided that by extension I would love this one too. I was unpleasantly surprised - the testure is all weird, the application is inconvenient - have to get my fingers dirty with it or try to awkwardly apply it directly to my lips. It tastes disgusting - like eating a piece of soap - so I feel the urgent need to wipe it off my lips. I dont think it is effective either - after about 10 minutes my lips feel all dry again. Would not recomment this product at all.
Well as one person mentioned, it is grainy, smells weird and I'm not sure if it really works. I used other Nivea products and I was really liked them, but this lip balm does not cut it.
It leaves this white film around even if you put on a bit, and it taste really bad. It does absorbe pretty fast, but it doesn't leave your lips feeling moisturized. Maybe in the summer it might be better to use because it is not that windy and cold, but for the winter it is not a good lip balm.
I can't say as I've ever really tried a Nivea product before to gauge my review of this product but for $3.49 tax, I got an entirely new experience with a lip product.
I'm used to Lip Smackers - babysitting my chap stick tube and reapplying every 10 minutes or be forced into biting my lips uncontrollably. With Nivea Light Kiss Lip Care, I found it tasted kind of like I was putting body lotion on my lips. Although you may be confused at the thought, the fact of the matter is it kept my tongue and my teeth away from my lips because no one wants to eat body lotion (except maybe Satsuma Body Butter from The Body Shop).
At first feel, it's almost like you're putting water on your lips. It feels wet and light and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere and before you know it, it feels silky and tingly and marvelous. I never knew a lip balm could elicit so many lip sensations!
Factoring in cost, look and ability to keep me from biting my lips, I'd give it 2 thumbs up. And an A for effective name - it does feel like I'm getting a light kiss every single time I apply.
Normally I LOVE Nivea products but OH MAN do I hate this one. I got it recently as part of a teen pack and was really excited to try it but I was immensely disappointed. The scent is nice (it smells similar to the Nivea Essential Lip Care in a tube) but I am not a fan of the pot format. The lip balm itself is atrocious – it claims that it is not sticky and absorbs quickly on your lips. I am completely puzzled by this being a pro because I think longevity is one of the most important characteristics when looking for a lip balm. Nevertheless, it does not sink in quickly, but that would probably be preferable given the weird and generally un-enjoyable texture of the balm – it is thin and grainy. It simply feels like you have a slick film on your lips. I ended up rubbing it off before it even had a chance to sink in.
If you’re looking to try a new lip balm, or even if you’re a Nivea fan looking to try a new product, I would look elsewhere. This is not their best work.
