I really, really wanted to like this product. Especially with all the patterns and artistic prints out there now. I tried colour 160 (Electric Shock), a solid, bright yellow. This is what I found...

    The Good
-No drying time - as soon as you're done sizing, applying, and shaping them, you're on your way.
    -Bright, opaque colour.
-Simple removal - the colour comes off easily with regular polish remover. There seemed to be a thin white layer in contact with the nail, but it removed easily as well.
-Neat and tidy application - no risk of spills or stains, or "colouring outside the lines".
    -DPB, toluene, and formaldehyde free.

    The Bad
-Application - takes almost as long as painting your nails and letting them dry anyways.
-Execution - These did NOT go on as easily as I thought (and I like to think I'm pretty good with things like this). And I even had help from my mom. The biggest problem was that the actually polish would not release from the clear plastic strip!!! The instructions say they should just peel off. But in reality, I had pry and plead with every one to get them off. Sometimes, the strips ended up stretched and the edges were therefore slightly rippled. Boo.
-Durability & longevity - "Lasts up to 10 days"?? I guess "up to" IS pretty ambiguous. I got 2 days before I had my first chip, and 5 days before they absolutely had to go.

    The Ugly
-Stretching to fit - The instructions say to "gently stretch strip for a perfect fit," with a small asterisk that warns you to avoid over-stretching. I was well-aware of this footnote, but it did not help. There is little stretch in the strips, and pulling more than about a millimetre WILL leave you faint lines in the polish.
-Misalignment - There is potential to choose the wrong size or shape, and apply the strip crookedly.

This product is a little bit pricey, in my opinion, and not nearly as convenient as I'd hoped. If it would've lasted 10 days and looked really, really good, I might consider going through the trouble again. Given my experience, I would rather paint my nails and do my own nail art. And for the price, I'd much rather buy a bottle of high-quality polish and get multiple uses out of it.

    Not for me!

I bought these over the weekend, as I didn't have time to get a manicure and was going out for a girls night on the town.. I will never purchase them again! For one, I read the instructions about 4895845 times - because I kept messing up, and thought that maybe I wasn't doing them properly.. For the life of me, I couldn't get them to work - and I hadn't even started drinking yet! Definitely a huge waste of money for me. Bummer!

Definitely not recommended for those impatient people out there!

I couldn't for the life of me get these to work for me! Perhaps I didn't read the instructions well enough, but it just looked like a piece of plastic in my nails that wouldn't stick well! Didn't think they were worth the $10 and was pretty disappointed!

I was recently able to try out this new product from Sally Hansen. I'm not normally very good at painting my nails so I tend to stick to simply colors that easily hide my mistakes. Ha! Sally Hansen's nail strips promise a 10-day manicure with no drying time. Each box includes two packets of multi-sized , which are essentially nail polish stickers, and a tiny nail file. You pick the size that works best for your nail, peel off the protective clear plastic and the back coat, stick it to the base of your nail and smooth/stretch to the tip. The instructions say to use the nail file to crease the edge over the tip of your nail to tear off the extra length.

In practice, I found it much easier to use my fingers to make the sticker bond with my nail, not the provided file. Even then, it didn't like to stick to the edges of my nail, despite having pushed back my cuticles, filed and swiping with polish remover -- twice -- before applying the strip. Unfortunately, I only figured out to use my finger on the last few nails. The whole process took over 30 minutes and the edges, around my nails and at the tips, still looked rough. There was some tearing and cracking around these edges as time wore on.

The bright side is, if you weren't staring closely, my nails looked great. the ice blue was gorgeous, the strips went on flat and smooth and were vibrant but thin. I always wind up using far too much nail polish because I want vibrant colors but can't seen to get it with thin/1 coat. Of course, the nail strips won't fit your nails perfectly. Good luck with that.

I wound up taking this off about a week after I applied because three of my nails had peeled 1/3 or more. So I sat down with my cotton ball and spent twenty minutes scrubbing. It's REALLY difficult to remove the nail polish strips. You almost need to sand this stuff off. Ridiculous!

While I'm sure I'd get a better manicure the second time around, I honestly cringe at the thought of having to remove the polish and that has stopped me from trying. While there are some benefits to this method, it's super pricey. You can get an entire bottle of polish for the same price so it' not affordable in the least -- especially if you're going a solid color. Just buy the polish yourself. On the other hand, the prints and designs are unique so if you want to splurge on something special, it's worth it to give it a try but have realistic expectations.
