I dont like the silicone texture. I much prefer the porefesdionl or even the nivea after shave balm. This products smooths the face but sometimes balls up on my face.
I used this primer for a few weeks a couple of months ago. I wanted to love it so much due to all the good reviews I have read in the past. I guess it wasn't for me as it made my skin breakout in which almost never happens.
This primer had the weirdest texture I've ever had in a primer. It felt very greasy and was not a pleasant thing to put on my skin. I don't even know really how well it worked as a primer because I only used it a few times. I think I would rather spend less money on a primer that felt nicer on my skin, and worked a bit better. I use all of my primers under my foundation, although some primers say you can even use them on top of your finished make up. All in all, I would not repurchase this primer.
I've heard amazing things about this primer but I can't say that my experience was that good. The primer does make a nice base for your makeup but it dried my skin out, especially around the nose. I found this odd because my skin isn't dry.. it's super oily. I'm not sure if this is just something that happens to a few people with a specific skin type, but I know another person who experienced the same thing I did. It's an expensive product and the results aren't magnificent. There are less expensive primers available that do a better job.
I'm not sure if I could tell a difference on my face when using this product. I have combination skin, so I suppose it helped in the areas where it was more dry. I did not like the texture of this and it felt really weird when applying to my face.
This is good primer, nothing special in my opinion, and give a very siliconey feeling, but I do have to give Smashbox a pat on the back since they were one of the first to come up with primers, and now have them in different color for different needs.
It does smooth my face well, but at the same time I feel putting on foundation is more work because it feels so slippery going on. It is not my favorite primer to use, I prefer the ones that don't feel so siliconey, but I will use it once in a while.
This product is extremley disappointing for its brand name and price. Not only does it make no difference when applied onto your face before your foundation routine, but through out the day your foundation slides off from it. This would only happen when Smashbox Photo Finish Primer was applied. This product is all talk, I highly warn you all to not purchase this product because you will definately end up looking in the mirror and realizing your skin looks totally unnatural and splotchy. Yikes!
I know this is one of the most beloved primers and all, but I'm not that into it.
It has a really slick, silicone feeling to it that makes me feel like I'm wearing a really soft mask on my skin. But hey, if you have any weird, uneven texture to your skin like crevices from acne, this is fabulous for filling those in and really does make makeup last longer.
I really wanted to like this product. I heard such great things about it, so many people recommend using a primer, and Smashbox is usually great, however I just cannot like it. I bought it with my Shoppers Optimum points, so no harm done there but if I had paid money for it I would have been very upset.
The texture is weird to me – it’s a gel. I find that it does not smooth on your skin as easily as I would have liked and seems to disappear in an instant leaving me wondering where I have and have not applied it. (Perhaps I am applying it wrong though I don’t know … are you supposed to use something other than your fingers?)
I also HATE how my skin feels with it on – it actually FEELS like I have another layer of “goo” on. I don’t like to feel my make-up, I don’t like to KNOW I’m wearing make-up. I want my skin to look flawless yet natural. I had hoped that this primer would help me achieve this look but it did not. I also noticed that it didn’t make a significantly noticeable difference in the longevity of my make-up – things did not stay in place any longer or better than they did when I did not use the product.
My biggest complaint is that it made me break out. This means that not only did my skin feel oily, but my pores were actually being clogged by the extra layer of make-up I had applied.
I will continue to use it sparingly I think, but only on my t-zone which requires some extra oil control and only for nights out because I don’t want to let it clog my pores for extended periods of time, and I can’t bare to have it on my face all day.
I would just like to emphasize that this is not strictly a bad product it just does not work for me personally.
