Photo finish? where?

I bought this primer and I personally didn't like it. I found that this primer never really stayed when dry & would lift when ever id apply foundation. The primer is definitely over priced for its effectiveness.

Doesn’t work for me. Could be my skin type however.

I’m not bashing smashbox in any way as I have a few other products that I like from them. I find that this primer doesn’t do what it’s supposed to for me. It may be my skin type, but I find that my foundation doesn’t sit or settle well. I find I have more creases and my pores are more exposed. It creates a lot of oil after a few hours of wear. I might need a different type (I know smashbox has a few other primers), but this one just doesn’t sit well. I have combo skin, oily/dry depending on weather or environment. It’s a matter of trial and error. At shoppers (ontario) they have sample packs. I’d suggest to ask for one to see before spending money on this product or get a demo at Sephora. It just doesn’t work for me but I’m sure it works for others. Just have to match right skin type or concealer/foundation type. Due to this reason I will not purchase in the future but do purchase other smashbox products.

Not my favorite

I had such high hopes for this product as it was one of my first high end makeup purchases. I would say that this primer does a sub par job with blurring my pores. I can still see them but they don't look as large. This primer does not help with making my foundation last longer and it seems to make my makeup look cakier throughout the day. The one thing that I do like about this product is that it makes makeup application very smooth.

Made my makeup slip

I was quite disappointed in this primer. Although I really like the smoothness, and that it applied very evenly, It ended up making my foundation slip throughout the day, my makeup actually lasted longer without it.

Not my fav

This product has a very oily feel to it. If you have an oily face, its not for you. It works OK - but I still prefer MAC primer. This is much more cost effective than MAC and will do in a pinch, but def not a fav!

No No No

I was given a sample pack of the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, and was super excited to try it out. After using it, I had the worst breakout I have had in probably years. It kept my foundation looking good, but definitely not worth the aftermath! Stay away if you have sensitive skin.

I used to love smashbox when it was cruelty free. I used to buy this primer. It works well enough, however it's not a primer that really absorbs into the skin, but rather coats the skin in a smooth, silky film. This might sound good, but you can feel it on your face all day long. The other reason I wouldn't buy this product is because E.L.F. offers one that is exactly like it. All of elf's primers are comparable, cruelty free, and more than 100x cheaper. Smashbox primer= $30 Canadian, Elf primer= $4

I found this to be just an average primer. I had high hopes because so many people rave about it. It goes on really nicely and makes skin feel super smooth, but it just sits on my skin. It didn't make my foundation last any longer than a drug store primer would and for the price, I expected a lot better.

I am not a fan of this silicone primer. Initially it feels good going on, it is smooth and pores do look somewhat diminished at first . The issue is it just sits on top of the skin, feeling slick and greasy . I really didn't find it prolonged the wear of any of my liquid foundations ( but to be fair I haven't tried it with any powder foundations).
I prefer my Hourglass and Guerlain primers!

The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is something that I am constantly hearing people rave about. I got a sample recently so I gave it a shot and I honestly wasn’t all that blown away. It applies really nicely and makes my skin very smooth but I also noticed that my face felt a little sticky after I applied my foundation until I dusted on a setting powder. It also made my makeup all kind of slip around on my face which made applying eye brow wax a total nightmare. It’s supposed to fill in pores and fine lines but I didn’t find it helped the appearance of my pores at all. My makeup seemed to settle strangely, about 2 hours after application my contour looked patchy so I had to work it around with a brush a little. On the plus side, it did appear to keep my skin from getting too oily and left my skin looking smooth.

I didn’t use this for an extended period of time because I only had a sample, so I think that I would maybe spend the 20 dollars on a travel sized of this primer to try it again but I don’t think I would go ahead and spend the money on this particular Smashbox primer in a full sized tube. $44.00 CA at Sephora for 1 fl. oz.
