I ordered this Nail Grinder as it promised to be quiet and gentle, not so much because our dog has a fear of noise, but I have a fear of accidently hurting her while trimming her nails. I will still take her to have her nails professionally trimmed, but this Nail Grinder will allow me to maintain them better in between groomings without the fear of causing any pain or discomfort.

The grinder feels sturdy and is easy to hold onto, with a simple off and on switch in a perfectly logical position on the handle. It runs quietly, as promised, with a low vibration in the handle. There are three holes on the cap to allow access to the grinding wheel at different angles, meant to allow choices dependent on the size of your dog. The cap can also be removed completely, allowing you angle the grinding wheel anyway you like against the nails. Removing the cap also allows for easy cleaning of the wheel and debris build up. I think it will be sometime before I am confident in how I am using it to remove the cap and use just the wheel, so I like having the built in holes to limit how fast I can grind - at least for the moment.

Our dog seemed quite curious about it - I let her sniff it before turning it on, and although she pulled back for a moment when I turned it on, that only lasted a few seconds and she was in sniffing it again. I held it to her nail gently, then increasing the pressure, and she sat there and let me do it for about 5-6 seconds (the maximum recommended in the instruction manual). Considering she was sitting on floor with one paw held on in my hand at the time, she was perfectly content to let me use it. In truth, she was much better with it then I expected her to be.

I do not have any cons about this product at this point - the grinder is quiet and gentle as promised, easy to use with no fear of causing pain or discomfort, and a great value for the price. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest opinion and review, although I am in no obligated to give a positive review in return for the discount.
