Great Delivery Service but a bit on the Pricey Side

I haven't been grocery shopping in the stores since March so when I heard that they choose me to try out this service with a $25 coupon code I was ecstatic. I love trying new delivery services, especially recently because of Covid-19. Sobeys delivery service called Voila was a great experience for me. The quality of the products they sent were great and we were able to add items from both Farm Boy and Well.ca to our order. This made it even more convenient since we could purchase our groceries along with specialty items and healthcare items. I did find the prices were a bit pricey on the website. I tried to stay with items that were on sale but had to scale away from this a bit because we did need some items. One of the items I did find was overpriced was onions for $3. Other things, like sour cream for $2 for two was a bit better but again on sale for the week. There were many options for delivery dates and times which was great. The delivery arrived on time and the person that dropped off my order was super friendly and asked if I had any questions. They were also wearing a mask and gloves which made me a bit happier to see how careful they were being with my groceries. I do have to say that an $8 delivery charge is a bit high. If you’re interested in purchasing your groceries using Voila, I do recommend you wait until a week when most of the items you need are on sale, this offsets the delivery charge. I also recommend this service if the delivery charge and paying a bit more for groceries in order to have convenience is something you’re ok with.

Voila By Sobeys food delivery service

Very convenient service if you don't want to leave the house, or don't have a car to bring home heavy items. I used it to buy things such as watermelon, cat litter, etc, that I didn't want to have to carry from the store as I don't drive. It was really easy to shop online, although some items did not have a lot in the description such as list of ingredients. Also, the flyer specials weren't offered, so less discounts were available than if I had shopped in store. The few negatives about the experience were a delivery fee, even when you purchased 100$ of products, the fruit they selected for the delivery was not well chosen (rather under ripened), and the delivery guys had a policy to only deliver items to the lobby of my building but not inside, so I had to meet them don't there and carry things up myself. I didn't realize they had this policy. Otherwise, everything was good. I will use this service again in the future if they offer discounts or I am unable to leave the house but not on a regular basis.

I liked this service - the delivery times had lots of availability, I really liked how they ordering site worked - they put sales front and centre so you could see them right away rather than having to dig to see what's on special.

The produce and meat that came was great- much better than my last few orders from other places.

Fast, friendly delivery.

Only complaint is they don't allow for fresh seafood orders.

Pretty good grocery delivery service

I received a coupon For $25 to try out this new grocery delivery service. Site was easy enough to work through to select the products I wanted. You select a date and time for delivery and place your order. The site advises that you can update or change your order up to a designated date and time. This is not true or at least not for me. I went in to update my order and the system appeared to accept it as the total owing was adjusted. I received a phone call saying the driver was 10 minutes away. Very nice touch. Everything was delivered as per the original order. Frozen items and all were at the proper temperature. Great feature. Thisis a fairly new service so there may be some bugs to be worked out with placing your order and then adjusting it within the designated time.

Great service to try, especially when in a bind!

I placed an order with Sobeys Voila service Friday night and spots were available first thing on Sunday morning (I wasn't expecting for availability on Saturday). The site is very easy to navigate through, as well as editing the order (even after placing it... you get almost half a day leeway before delivery). It was neat to search for specific products from FarmBoy too (sadly didn't have their muffuletta spread online). Delivery came 30 minutes once the 1 hour opened up. Really professional driver and left items at door for contactless.

Unfortunately our strawberries were half mushed and we ended up with wilting romaine that expired same day. HOWEVER, after contacting the Voila team, reimbursement was given (they ask for a pic if you can for future quality handling).

Would I use this service again? I would have to be in a tight situation to go this route. The delivery fee ($8) as acceptable as it is, I just found the prices were highly marked up, even beyond Sobeys prices. In addition selection of products were limited. I usually shop in person, but the online limited sale items was at least a great bonus :)

Fast delivery

It was my first time using Voila and buying at Sobeys. The website is easy to use and the delivery was very fast, I placed the order around 8pm and got the groceries the day after before 9am. The delivery guys were friendly, they asked me to check the temperature of the frozen products, and if no egg was broken. I had no missing items in my order.
If I were to list some cons, it would be the variety of products (for example we buy a brand of milk that I could not find on the website) and the price. Normally I do my groceries on supermarkets that are cheaper than Sobeys.
So overall was a good experience but I would use it more for the convenience and occasionaly, not for my day to day grocery shopping. I'm giving my honest opinion and I got a discount as part of a Product Review Club offer.

On the Fence

The products were well packaged and groceries were kept cold. They also have a wide range of delivery times and love that there is early morning and late evening time slots. There was some issues needing improvement. There were many products that I tried to find that were not available on the website. There is some communication issues that need to be worked out so that clients are aware the delivery is on it way. I don't know if I would use this regularly as there a delivery fee.

I would use this grocery service again!

I very much enjoyed testing Volia by Sobeys. It was very easy to register and navigate through the website. Making my choices was easy too with sections for each part of the grocery store.
I like the fact my grocery order was picked from a warehouse and I'm notified while in the ordering stage if something isn't available. With traditional grocery services, you'll find items dropped from your order when delivered which is frustrating.
The delivery truck arrived on time and I even received a call 15 minutes prior to delivery from the driver to introduce and ask if this was my first experience. The driver was very courteous and friendly, delivering the groceries to my front step, in grocery bags. The driver wore gloves and a mask.

I would use this services

I got my delivery the next day which is better than other Grocery store retailers. All the products and items were fresh. But searching for items that I know Sobey's has because I buy it there all the time. For example Fever Tree ginger beer if they didn't have it, it would say out of stock. Delivery was seamless, but it was$7.99 a bit steep. The delivery person called to infirm they were 5-10 minutes away. The order was accurate. With COVID IT wasn't as tiring, no standing in line, social distancing, I would use them In the future.
