Best Grocery Delivery Service to date

From the ordering process, to selecting a delivery time-slot (i snagged one for the following morning) to receiving EVERY item I selected, this has been the best grocery delivery service i have tried to date. When the pandemic hit, my weekly trips to the grocery store were just too risky for me so we started trying out different services. The amount of time i have spent online only to find more than half my order missing was disappointing to say the least. The fact that this service uses machines to grab the items and ships directly from a distribution center, meaning less contact with my items, made sure that i got everything i wanted and i felt safer doing so. Also, the fact that i can order Farmboy products on here is a majoy win!!
This is a service i will 100% be using again!!

Easiest grocery shop ever!

I have tried a couple different grocery store deliveries, and I was SO impressed with Voilà! First of all, it was so easy to find items that were in stock. Plenty of sale items. Great options from Chalo, Farm Boy, and Well.ca, as well as Sobey’s. Prices were reasonable. Lots of slots for delivery and it was delivered next day! The delivery person was so friendly, helpful, and called me before he got here. Everything I ordered was available, and my ice cream was still frozen and everything else was in perfect condition! Will definitely use this service again!

I'm amazed!

I've only tried online grocery shopping once and when I got booted out for an item not available and had to restart everything, I practically gave up. Then I got an email from chick advisor to be part of this campaign with Sobeys Voila grocery delivery. It was perfect timing because i needed to do shopping and the only "catch" was to spend $100 and get $25 off for participating! I did my research and I heard its from a warehouse where robots pick the fresh or frozen items and then the items are delivered to your door from one of their team members. This is an understatement!! The online ordering is such a breeze! Everything is put into easy sorted categories. Its all available, even on sale items! Then just pick and order date and time slot, payment info and thats it. I got a call about 5 min before my scheduled time, he explained he would call me in about 5 min after he's arrived to unload and be ready. Which he did. I went outside ( I live in a basement) so I was prepared to carry them down. I was greeted by a man wearing a mask who social distanced. He was super nice! He had these hooks and carried them down my backyard and to the back door. He explained the frozen meat is perfect temperature still because he just checked and that everything is there. He also explained after covid they would be hopeful to carry the groceries to my fridge or anywhere if I'd like. But because of covid right now its not permitted. When I say amazing customer service I mean amazing! I will 10000% be doing this again. I have 2 kids, I'm a stay at home mom, one car, and hubby works late hours. This is just so perfect! I am so grateful for the opportunity and the amazing quality in food and customer service!

As easy as grocery shopping myself!

Voila is the latest grocery delivery program offered by the Empire Group (Sobey’s, Freshco, Giant Tiger, Chaco, Farm Boy). Though I received a promo voucher for an unbiased review of the program, I was super critical given that I’ve used every single grocery deliver service in the area (Metro, Walmart, Instacart, Innabuggy, and Cornershop). I’m beyond happy about my experience. The ordering and checkout process were pain free, like walking down a virtual grocery store aisle. I loved that I could add items not just from Sobey’s but also from Farm Boy and Well.ca. I placed an order by 6pm and was able to book a delivery window for next day delivery. Delivery fee was $7.99 to pick and deliver the items which is very reasonable compared to other delivery services. I received my groceries the next day by exactly as expected with no missing items or substitutes. 10 minutes before the delivery person arrived, he called to let me know he was nearby and was super courteous. When he finished the contactless delivery to my front door, he rang the doorbell and mentioned that any items in a bag with a striped handle needed to be refrigerated or frozen. Because it came out of a refrigerated truck, everything was fresh and looked A+. I couldn’t believe the level of service.

New and More Convenient Way to Grocery Shop Online

I will say overall that I have not been a fan online grocery shopping. I did try it elsewhere during the pandemic and the experience was horrible. With that trip I clicked no substitutions and ended up with several substitutions and damaged groceries. When I started hearing about Voila, the premise sounded vastly different, so I thought I would give online grocery shopping another shot.

My experience with Voila was mainly good. I placed the order Tuesday night and had it delivered by Thursday. I initially chose Friday, but emailed to change delivery to Thursday. They answered quickly and easily changed it to Thursday for me. The gentleman who dropped off my groceries was very nice and friendly. I had one minor issue with one product. I ordered bread and the expiry date is 3 days from now. Ideally in a grocery store I would not choose a product expiring that soon. I reached out to Voila and after requesting a picture of it, they quickly made the problem right.

Issues for me personally:
-I found it very time consuming to go through all the products. I prefer to go through a grocery store where I can quickly grab where I know things are and get out.
-There aren't enough products, but I think that is a big "yet". They are still growing.
-I did find it more expensive than the grocery store overall. It would be nice to have a loyalty program or cheaper shipping for a certain amount spent.
-Sometimes there wasn't enough pictures and information on the product. No pictures of nutritional information and no written information about it.
-I would love to see a "Reviews" section added to all products.

Pros:
-I like that the delivery windows are so narrowed down and you can get your order quickly. Although I am concerned as they get busier that will change and it will be harder to get groceries so quickly.
-I love that you can get some Farm Boy products.
-None of my groceries were damaged and even the produce was perfect.
-Very fast and friendly customer service no matter what you need dealt with.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience.

Great new delivery option!

The website was very easy to use. There were many delivery time’s available as well, as early as next day! I believe the delivery fee is lower than any other delivery service I’ve tried! The delivery person was awesome. He called about 20 mins before arrival and asked if there was any special instructions he should know. When he finished handing off the groceries he asked if it was my first purchase and when I told him yes he happily explained their whole process. The products are picked by robots to minimize handling, and if there are any out of stock items they will inform you beforehand and you won’t be charged. The only think different I would like to see is the option to pay by debit at the door. Other than that it was a very easy, enjoyable experience!

Voila...Groceries at your Door!

Full disclosure, I received a $25 voucher (when I ordered $100 worth of groceries) from #chickadvisor in exchange for an honest review. I was a little skeptical at first because the delivery charge was $7.99 and Sobey's groceries tend to be more expensive than the usual places I shop, but I decided to give it a try. It was super easy to register and order all the groceries using my cell phone!

*Loved that you could shop sale items! Each category of grocery was broken down into subcategories as well as the "sale" section.
*If an item wasn't available, you couldn't even add it to your cart (unlike other stores where you only find out the item isn't available at time of pick up).
*Delivery was AWESOME! I received a call saying they would be here in 10 minutes. I was then asked if I would like the groceries left on the front step (totally non-contact) or handed off to me.
*The driver does a temperature check of the foods that should be chilled, just to be sure it didn't get too warm.

Dislikes
*The only downside was the $7.99 delivery charge...but honestly, if you ordered a large amount of groceries, the fee isn't that bad!

Excellent customer service but product availability lacking

I received a discount code to use toward the Voila service by the Product Review Club. Here are my impressions:
Pros:
- Excellent time slot availability
- Delivery arrived at the specified time and driver called twice, once to advise me that the order would be arriving within 5 minutes, and once after the order had been delivered
- Groceries were well-packed and all items were at appropriate temperatures (i.e. frozen foods were still frozen!)
- Produce and other items were well-selected: no bruises, no items near to expiry, etc
Cons
- Product availability! At the time that I placed my order, many of my typical groceries were not being offered. Nothing obscure; just things like green beans, plums, apricots, etc. So after receiving my order, I will still have to visit my local grocery store.
- Price for this service. As I mentioned, I received a coupon code to use toward my order. In the absence of that code, I might not have placed an order, since delivery costs $7.99.

Groceries delivered from the comfort of your home!

During this unfortunate pandemic it was really nice to try #VoilabySobeys and get my groceries delivered. It saved me the worry and headache to go into the store. It is so nice to pick and choose groceries from the comfort of my own home. The delivery guy was very kind and professional. Produce were fresh and nothing was damaged. A more careful delivery

You can tell there's less touching of my stuff just from entering the order.

My friend is very concerned about exposing her Mum to covid, so she was excited to hear about this new service. She's also vegan and diabetic, so she's always looking for special products. This is the grocery service for her.

The website was easy to use. The search button and categories got you to the groceries needed. It was easy to make order changes until 7:25pm the day before. (Metro gives you until before 4pm and Walmart gives you until midnight) . You know, for family members who tell you what they need AFTER you enter the order.

Products available at Voila are sold in bunches (you can't just get individual bananas, peaches, buns, anything, it's all in clusters so it has as few touches as possible).

They sell Sobeys, Farm Boy, and Chalo products. Therefore there's a large selection of gluten free, vegan, ethnic, and regular items. It comes from a warehouse, so there aren't customers picking over the stuff, and the produce is fresh guaranteed. (It is fresh, my bananas are green and peaches are *just ripe)

Their prices are the same as Sobeys (I didn't see any extra uplift). Their delivery charge is $7.99 which is lower than Walmart or Metro.

The plastic bags are better quality than Walmart, but not as sturdy as Metro. And the next time you receive a delivery, they'll take them to be recycled.

For their delivery, you can pick the hour you want them there. You can tell them special instructions on the order, but our exceptionally polite driver called ahead, confirmed instructions, told us he'd be here in 15 minutes (right on time). He put the refrigerated items in one group and non perishables in another. He was neatly dressed with gloves and mask, and the delivery truck looked like a dedicated refrigerated truck.

Overall I was happy with my order. (My friend may never leave them once they come to her area). I'd prefer more individual items as there are only 2 of us, but the delivery itself was a good price and amazing service. (And I tend to frequent places with great service)
