best grocery delivery service so far!

I have used other grocery deliver services in the past, but the Voila by Sobeys services is the best one yet. All of my groceries were promptly delivered in the timeslot chosen. I also received a call to say that they were on the way.

The attention to detail was amazing! All of my groceries were packed based on temperature - frozen foods in one bag. The eggs were checked to ensure nothing was broken along the way. Fruits and vegetables were picked just right (e.g., bananas were not too ripe but not too green either).

I only wish that the Voila by Sobeys accepted air miles as they do in their stores.

Easy way to buy groceries online

I've been online shopping for several years now. However, this past week I tried online grocery shopping for the first time! I was a bit hesitant since I didn't really know what to expect. After hearing about #VoilabySobeys I was excited to give this a try. 

My husband and I usually go grocery shopping on Thursday evenings, however, this past week I had been booked for a podcast interview. Instead of rescheduling our grocery shopping date, we found this to be a perfect opportunity to order our groceries online and have it delivered to our front door. 

On Wed evening, I created an account with Voila which took a few simple steps. Then I booked a delivery date for Friday from 12noon to 1pm. We had our grocery list written down, so I entered each item in the search tool on the website and chose the item that I wanted. I usually filtered by the best value. It took me about an hour (took me a bit longer as a first-timer to navigate the website and I was browsing through a bunch of sale items!). We reviewed all the items in our cart which was about $100 plus tax. The cost for delivery is $7.99. This seems like an acceptable fee since the robots need to pick up all our items and a delivery man drops it off at our house. I also received a $25 discount as part of a Product Review Club offer. We submitted our order and I received the email confirmation order right away in my inbox. 

On Friday right before 12noon, I received a phone call from the delivery man. He arrived right at my front door. He greeted me, wore a mask and gloves and informed me that everything was temperature-checked. The items that needed to be refrigerated right away were in a colour-coded bag with green handles. Overall, it was nice to not have to drive to the grocery store and we saved money on gas. I would recommend this to a friend if they don't feel comfortable leaving their house because of COVID-19 or other health issues. I would use this service again if my schedule gets busy and I don't have the time to physically go to the grocery store.

I was given the opportunity to use Sobeys Voila online grocery delivery service at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

To start, ordering was very easy and straightforward. I searched the website for everything I needed, added it to cart, and checked out. The transaction was processed and the groceries were delivered really quick. Everything was fresh and there were no issues with any items I orders. The handoff of groceries was done safely and socially distanced. I would definitely order again through this service.

A lactose-free shopping dream!

Throughout the last few months, grocery shopping has been a struggle for me, as I am lactose intolerant, and many of the grocery stores in my area have not been able to maintain consistent product availability due to the pandemic. I also do not have a car and rely on buying things on foot, and whil I've tried grocery delivery programs in the past, I either didn't like the options or found it too expensive. When I was invited to try Voila by Sobey I knew I had to give it a try, as there are no Sobeys near by but I know they usually have the brands I trust.

We created our order 3-4 days before our delivery (we changed the day by one day) and found it fairly seamless to book a time. I was able to easily find dairy-free products and treats for myself, which really made my day, and other household items that I'd been meaning to buy but put off due to weight or volume (giant bags of potatoes, big container of detergent, etc.) The Voila site carried different brands like the Farm Boy brand for their more farm-to-table options, as well as the Chalo! FreshCo section which had a lot of international foods too.

The one thing I noticed however, was the fruit section was extremely picked over, this could be due to the day we selected which was right after the August long weekend, but the fruit section was limited to apples and oranges, lemons and limes mainly and no berries or other seasonal produce, it was there but not available at the moment. I'm not sure how common this is, but I'll definitely keep my eye out next time.

The delivery was smooth, my driver called me 20 minutes out and then 5 minutes out. Because my order had some heavy items he came up and brought it to my door which was really thoughtful, and he told me which bags had the frozen items which should be put away right away. Overall I was SUPER impressed with the handling of the delivery which is always stressful to know how accurate or timely the delivery will happen, and I was greatly impressed to have them deliver within the hour chosen! I will definitely try them again.

website appears to be fairly well organised but not sure why at check out does not tell you items that our out of stock, instead of making you go back into system , items not same on website as in flyer..

Pleasantly Surprised! Great customer service

My order originally would not check out properly, so I had to call into Voila for help. She was able to help me check out and place my delivery time. super nice! When my groceries were on the way, I got a call telling me that they were 10 minutes away, and they asked if it was my first time using them. When he arrived, he even took a minute to explain that they separate out the cold items in a bag with the arms marked in green, and that they do a temperature check. I'm pretty sure my food got to me even m ore fresh than if I went to the grocery store myself. I do think that it can be worth the $7-8 delivery fee depending on where you live. However, I did find that my local grocery stores have cheaper products. Although, I did find everything to be in pristine shape, and I think it's really worth it if you simply have no time to go shopping yourself, or you are physically unable to. I ordered a lot of cans because I have a bad back, and it really saved me the trouble of going about it myself.

This was my first time using Voila by Sobeys and my experience was amazing! It was actually also my first time ordering groceries online. The process was so much more simple than I had thought; from ordering to delivery, everything went smoothly. I am so grateful for the opportunity from Product Review Club to be able to receive a special discount.

The main things we consider when grocery shopping are of course, the quality and value of the products. In-stores, you have to look and compare each product to see which one is the best value. But online with Voila, you can sort prices from low to high and easily browse. The selection was great and the prices are the same as what you would find in-stores.

They charge a $7.99 for delivery, it's not a bad value but it is on the expensive side. But considering the fact that you don't have to leave your house and get your groceries done, the time you save is definitely worth it!

Factoring in that at times like these with social distancing it is especially helpful. I was also very impressed by the customer service of the delivery staff. Super professional and friendly. The staff check the temperature of the produce to ensure food safety standards are met. They also helped bring the groceries right to my door step!

Another thing I loved was that you can pinpoint the hour you wanted your groceries to be delivered and they ensure on-time delivery.

With Voila by Sobeys, you are guaranteed to get amazing customer service, fresh high quality produce, convenience, and ease of use. I highly recommend it to anyone considering an online grocery delivery service.

Awesome new delivery choice!

I have been a long time fan and user of grocery delivery services, especially during the current pandemic. I was really happy to see that Sobey's was offering this service and was excited to receive a discount through Chickadvisor in exchange for my honest review. I found the website easy to use, and it provided a lot of choice of what to order. I like the fact that you can cancel or change your order within a reasonable time frame. There were lots of delivery times available and the delivery fee was a reasonable price (totally worth not having to drive to the store and back myself). The driver called me when he was on his way and dropped my groceries at my front door upon my request. He was polite and punctual and notified me that he had checked the temperature of my order as he unloaded it. The groceries were just what I ordered, with no substitutions and nothing missing. I will definitely use this service again!

Excellent service

I had such an amazing service with food delivery today! All the items I ordered came, no substituted or missing items. That was great because I ordered some items for a recipe I wanted to try today.
I loved that I got a phone call from the driver when they where 15 mins from my house. I didn't have to wait and wonder when within the window my food was going to arrive. However the best part I found was all the items that needed to be refrigerated or frozen came in bags with different coloured handles! I had unexpected plans come up so I didn't need to dig through the bags to find what I needed to put away before I could head out the door. I will be using them again. I received a discount as part of a Product Review Club offer.

Amazing service from an amazing company

As a former employee of a company under the same banner as Sobeys, I went into this with super high expectations and I was not disappointed. From start to finish, Voila by Sobeys was simple to use. When you log into the website, they have each category clearly labelled and if you can't find it, the search function works very well (which is a problem I've had on other delivery sites.) Another feature I really appreciate is all of the fees are upfront when you check out.

Delivery is super simple. Due to COVID-19, they currently don't enter apartment buildings, but they usually call 10-20 minutes before they arrive giving you plenty of time to meet them downstairs. It is a little bit harder to manage this with a toddler, but they have delivery windows every hpur between 6 am and 10 pm, so it's no big deal to schedule delivery for a time when my husband is home.

We did have a slight issue on our delivery with a sealed bottle of refrigerated salad dressing arriving mouldy, but after emailing their customer service with what happened and pictures, they got back to me in less than an hour issuing a refund for the item. This type of customer service lately is almost unheard of, so I'm very impressed.

I'm very happy with this service as I used to live in Nova Scotia where Sobeys is everywhere. Since moving, I live nowhere near one and have been missing a lot of Sobeyts exclusive products. $7.99 is a little bit more for a delivery fee than other services, but well worth it compared to the price of two adults taking the bus to the grocery store with a toddler in tow.
