Ecotools has released three different versions of this over the years, and I have purchased the first and most recent versions of this kit. These brushes are synthetic, and so decently soft, though they are a little pokey, though this this is mostly the two smaller brushes (smudge brush, petite eye shading brush), this is the same between the older and the newer set. The larger brushes are fine though. In the most recent version, they seem to have gotten rid of the "highlighting brush" which is more of a blending brush, and replaced it with a eyeliner brush. While the eyeliner brush works fine, the "highlighting" blending brush was of more utility, and I am rather disappointed that they got rid of that brush.
LOVE THESE BRUSHES. They are shapes small enough and are so soft. I would prefer a longer handle for aesthetic reasons. But these are nice to travel with because they are small. These are a great price. I really recommend you try an eco tools brush if you haven't.
I really like this set as they work well and are a good quality however they are far too expensive.
These brushes are pretty great. They are soft and get the job done, you can use them a million and one different ways. They are Eco friendly and are an amazing quality to be sold at the drugstore. The one thing I do have to say about these is that if you have a particularly sensitive eye area you may find them a bit scratchy once you wash them once or twice, its nothing to intense but you definitely feel a slight irritation when using them in the crease. Other than that these are phonominal tools and are worth the money spent on them.
Can't say enough good things about EcoTools brush and bath line, and the company's commitment to the environment. The brushes are amazing - plus the fact that they're made with bamboo handles (a highly sustainable plant), recycled aluminum ferrules and cruelty free Taklon bristles is an added bonus.

*Very Affordable Price
All of these brushes are very worthy of the low cost they are and i HIGHLY recommend them if you need an affordable set or if you are just beginning to play around with make up. The only thing that would have been nice to add to the set is a blending brush, but that wouldn't effect my decision of buying them or not.
