Quality has declined

This used to be my holy grail mascara, but unfortunately the quality seems to have declined recently. I also noticed that every retailer has increased the price of this product, so I wonder if it doesn't sell as quickly as before, and therefore the one I bought recently has been sitting around for a while. The tube I bought recently seemed to be dried out or the formulation has changed so that it's not as liquid as it used to be. With so many new mascaras coming on the market all the time, I'm going to continue searching for a mascara that volumizes and lengthens better than the Almay One Coat, at drug store prices.

I despise this mascara so much because firstly the brush isn't good enough to individually coat all the lashes and secondly the formula is so dry that hardly any gets on the lashes. Repeated coats just transfer huge clumps of the product making the lashes look worst.
