Not clumping too fine

After testing this litter, the clumps break apart too easily. The litter is too fine and gets "muddy". On a positive note, there is no detectable odor.

a staticky mess that tracks *everywhere*

For years, I've used a scoopable clay litter. I scoop daily, & wash the box at the beginning of each month, to cut down on dust & odor buildup...
I recently received a coupon for a complimentary 7lb box of Arm & Hammer HardBall LightWeight litter (usually ~$25+tx) & was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get it home by public transit. The box has a convenient strap built into it, making it very easy to carry. Unfortunately, that's about where the pros stop. No matter how much I wanted to like this litter, on nearly all counts other than the weight, it absolutely did not match up.
I made the switch just over a week ago, when I did my monthly litter box cleanout. The entire box of litter barely fills the bottom of our standard sized litter box, leaving less each time clumped litter is removed & I worry that I'll have to top up long before month end. The litter clumps as expected, though if your cat tends to pee in the corners of the litter box, you may find that the clumped will meld itself to the side of the box, leaving a sticky spot when you pop it off while scooping. The litter is heavily scented, a thing that neither my cat nor I appreciate. Worse still, it is a fine sand consistency, meaning that static is a serious concern & it tracks *everywhere*. Our robovac is losing the daily battle to keep the grit under control & we've had to start shaking our sheets out each night before bed.
In all, though the 7lb box size is extremely convenient, it is both significantly more expensive & comes with such a list of additional disadvantages that I cannot in good conscience recommend this product.

If you're on the hunt for a new cat litter that handles odor control and clumping with ease, ARM & HAMMER™ HardBall™ Clumping Litter might be worth checking out. Here's what I think:

Pros:

- Superb Odor Control: This litter does an amazing job at locking in odors. It uses ARM & HAMMER™ baking soda, which is a classic ingredient for absorbing smells. Even after a few days, I haven't noticed any lingering "cat box" smell.

- Great Clumping Action: The clumps form quickly and are solid. If you scoop right away, it’s easy to scoop, and it doesn’t crumble apart when you try to clean it out.

- Low Dust: For anyone with respiratory issues or if you just don’t want a dusty mess, this litter is a win. It’s much lower in dust compared to some other brands.

- Weight: It's lighter in weight than their regular litter.

Cons:

- Tracking: While not as bad as some other brands, there is still a bit of litter tracking. If your cat is a digger or if you don’t have a mat at the base of the box, expect to clean up some litter from around the box.

- Clumping Can Get Hard: The clumps are very solid, but if left for too long, they can get a little too hard to scoop. So, you do have to stay on top of cleaning it out regularly.

- Price: ARM & HAMMER™ HardBall™ tends to be a bit pricey, so it might not be the best choice for some.

Overall, it's a bit too expensive for my limited budget. The odor control is excellent, and the clumping action makes it easy to scoop and clean. It has some tracking issues, those are minor inconveniences compared to how well it performs in other areas. If you’re looking for a good litter that controls odors well, this one is definitely worth considering!

Not as effective

I received this to try for free for my review. First thing I noticed was the price. Wow, when I can get 22.7kg of cat litter for 15$, paying approx 25$ for less than 1/4 of the amount,I thought to myself this better be a litter that scoops itself or something, because the price per quantity is not good. Then I tried to fill 2 boxes with it but couldn't, so I ended up using it all(7lb box) in one litter box, and my regular brand in the other. The added scent is definitely enough to cover any unpleasant smells, but I am unsure how safe that is for cats, as it was quite strong in my opinion. Also, yes it clumped up and hardened very well, but if you have cats that pee close to the side of the box, it solidifies and is hard to get off of the box. The last thing I will say, is if you have a cat with fancy pants, aka long hair around their butt, this might stick to their hair and clump up. Overall, would not buy, it is not life-changing and honestly was inconveniencing my litter cleaning task.

Hardball clumping..too hard?

I received ARM & HAMMER™ HardBall™ Clumping Litter to try for free in exchange for my honest review.
Although there are a lot of great pros, I don't personally think I am quite sold on this product. I will let you try it and be the judge. The pros may outweigh my personal con.

Pros, yes light weight. Didnt seem to be dusty. The product looked like sand which for a cat seems more comfortable for paws. It did hide odors for about 7 days or so. I didn't fully remove all little I just added more after the clumping and it seemed like the smell went away. It does clump hard as advertised.

My con..does it clump too hard? I found that when trying to scoop urine would create almost like a paste or super glue or cement to the bottom of the little box. I found fresh urine harder to scoop as well as much older urine at the bottom of the box. It also took a lot of effort for the scraping to not fling litter out of the box.
Although it has several great qualities I feel like my con outweighs my desire to purchase it again but I know the plus qualities are a win for many.

Decent

Good smell for a litter but fresh scent disappears pretty fast and clumps burn through the litter pretty fast. Some nearly the size of a softball. Otherwise does it's described job.

Quick and Easy to Scoop

It definitely has both some pros and cons, but thankfully, both cats had no complaints.
For me, the biggest pro was how well it clumped together, and how easy and quick it was to scoop.
The cons however, were the sand-like texture that I found easily tracked more because it's so fine and would get stuck between their little toe-beans, that the litter mat didn't even catch it, and the added scent. I'm really not a fan of scented litters for my cats, as I prefer to have one less thing for their senses to have to process.
Would I buy it again? Yes, but only if I could figure out a way to keep it from tracking, and if it came in an unscented version.

Okay

Picked up a box of @armandhammer Hardball clumping litter. I was surprised how light it was. I'm used to heavy cat litter. It's easier to lift and take with you on the public transit. I do like the scent. I received this from @thisisbutterly for this review.

Don’t clump like other competitors.

My cat thoroughly enjoyed this. It didn’t clump like most we’ve tried, kept door to a minimum. Would recommend to cat owners and family. Would buy again for sure

Sadly, my cats didn't like it

I received this product for free from Butterly for review and testing purposes. We have been using Arm and Hammer litter for a few years now. What I like about this new litter is that it has a lot less dust! This is great for my cat that has allergies. The litter also clumps great with out falling apart when scooping. Unfortunately, even though I used the method on the box of how to introduce new litter, my cats would not go in the box. This new litter has a very strong fragrance. It also has a crunchy texture. I was looking forward to using a new litter with a lot less dust, but sadly, my cats don't want it.
