I saw this at Walmart for $8 so I thought sure why not. I have tried to use it during my post-parturm - on my tummy but I didnt see any effect. Then a few months later I had very dry skin patch on my cheeks. After using this for about a week it went away. Great product but I afraid to use it too often because I am worry about breaking out.
I found this to be very greasy making it hard to apply and it did not get rid of the stretch marks around my breasts.
I used this all throughout my first pregnancy, twice a day, religiously, and did not get any stretch marks so I in turn recommend this product to everyone I know. I did gain an obscene amount of weight too so I feel that this oil did its job. The price tag is high but worth it if it helps, it's worth every penny.
Love this product!! I tried it after working out a lot and still being unhappy with my stomach (due to stretch marks)...I definitely noticed a difference :)
Now what intrigued me to this product was the claim that was a good moisturizer - I cannot comment on whether or not it helps with stretch marks because I do not have any (at the moment!)
While I did find the liquid application a tad odd to apply, I use it after the shower as a moisturizer (usually in the fall/winter when my skin is dry). I find that as a moisturizer, it is great and my skin usually feels taut afterwards. I did wish that it was sold unfragranced, because I am not a HUGE fan of the scent, but I can live with it! I also wish the price was lower because at $12.99 for the small bottle, it is pricey. I would say to give it a try - there are lots of good reviews on how it heals dry skin and assists with uneven skin tone and stretch marks! Worse comes to worse, it just ends up being a pricey moisturizer for you! Try to pick it up when it goes on sale (often) for $9.99!
I just gave birth top my second child! unfortunately i did get stretch marks from both of my pregnancies! i found bio oil worked, slowly but surely on the stretch marks the first time as long as you remember and keep up with it twice a day. it does take some time but it does lessen their appearance! this time around, unfortunately im pretty busy with a 3yr old and newborn, but i try to use it at least once a day and its starting to work now... (its been 7 weeks 4 days since i had my son) It is a little oily so i usually use it before bed so i dont notice that my belly is all slippery, lol but its nice to knwo that it works! if the makers of bio oil came out with a lotion that was less oily and messy, i would run out and buy it for sure!
I didn't find this to be very moisturizing, and i saw no difference in my stretch marks so far. the fact that its a liquid makes application a little messy.
I have the worlds most chapped lips. No joke. So upon a friends recommendation I went out and bought Bio Oil vitamine E serum. I found it to have a very strong, unpleasant smell. Extremely sticky which means I'd get it all over my hair, 'cuz my hair would touch my lips and then get it smeared across my cheeks thanks to my hair. Perhaps there are better uses for this product than chapped lips, there are definitely much much better products to use for chapped lips (ahem: carmex). I've read this product to be amazing for other jobs (e.g. stretch marks) so I'm sure this is great for those purposes but it wasn't good for me. I have pretty much the whole bottle of the stuff sitting around collecting dust.
After our post on the five different uses of Bio oil and after receiving this product to review, I decided to give it a try and use it for anything I could think of. What I love about Bio-Oil is the fact that it is a great all purpose moisturizer for almost any and everything. I used Bio Oil as an after sun lotion for my burn and it didn't prevent peeling but it did soothe and did make my skin softer.
My favourite use for bio oil is for a make up remover. It does a really great job and ges rid of everything quite easily and is great as an under eye cream too. I have also started it using it at night in my dry ends in my hair at night then I wash it out in the morning. So far, it is helping but I find it helps mostly immediately after putting it in my hair- bio oil absorbs pretty fast.
It definitely is a great produc to have in your medicine cabinet and I am really happy I got to try this product out!
I purchased this hoping to fade my scar on my arm a bit. I didn't finish the bottle but I used more than half of it and it doesn't work. I don't notice if it faded or anything. The formula is really greasy and overall, I don't think it's a very effective product. It could be that my scar is really old..I don't know what criteria it has to be in but this product was not for me.
