I recently had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and because my face was so swollen I couldn't lick my lips to lubricate them. After a few days the skin was peeling off my lips they were so dry, it was gross. I went out the store and saw the small tub of Carmex on sale for about $2.50. I bought some, put it on, and my cracked and peeling lips were cured within hours! I have tried so many other lips balms and chap sticks but this one has the fastest healing time! Plus it leaves a cooling sensation on your lips and I really like that.
Also, it's really good if you have dry nails like I do. I just rub a little bit on my nails and they look so healthy!
I recommend this to anyone and everyone. I am an avid user of Carmex and have been for years. My family has used it as well as far back as I can remember when I was a child. We get cold sores and we use this and keeps them away about 95% . When It gets worse I make sure I get my Carmex out and put it to use. It keeps the lips soft and healthy as well. I keep a tube beside my bed and put it on right before I fall asleep. It has medication in it that helps to keep dry lips away and makes your lips so kissable. I have also been asked how do I keep my lips from getting wrinkles. I smoke and in my family we all have lips that have no wrinkles. I never put it together and well not til someone asked me one day while at work. I told them I wasn't sure. The only thing I use on my lips is Carmex. If i use my lipstick I make sure to put Carmex on before I put my lip stick on. I have found that it isn't just for lips. I had a server case of dry crack hands and feet. I started to put it on those to see if it would help like it does with my lips. I was blown away with what I woke one morning to see. My feet were baby soft and my hands no longer had cracks in them. My husband's job required him to deal with water and detergents all day long. Washing his hands in it and working with it on the cars and trucks. His hands began to bleed from all the cracks in them. I don't want you to get confused so don't think when I told him to try it on his hands that the cracks went away over night. They did however heal fast and then he began to keep a lot of the tubs and containers at his job for the other crew to use. Their hands never got cracks again because they coated their hands with the Carmex. Yes his hand were soft after that . I believe that once you try it on whatever you want to try it on you will love it as much as I do. It comes in handy for many hings around the house as well as at work.
I love Carmex! I'm just about finishing my first tub of it and want to the try the tube version next. I recently substituted my lip balm for Carmex and it was a great choice. It refreshes and moisturizes my lips significantly. Dry lips are no match. I find that re-applying it is often necessary and the menthol may be too strong for some. However, it is a winner in my arsenal of products.
I ADORE this product. I used my friend's about 4 years ago and I've been hooked. It moisturizes without making me lips feel weighed down with products. I usually stayed away from lip balms because of this reason. I cannot leave the house without these product - it's definitely my holy grail lip balm - love love love!
I have carmex tubes all over the place it's the best. It actually penetrates my lips not just sitting on top like the other waxy ones. Plus it's usually only $1. My lips are never dry!
I read good reviews of this product and was misled into buying it. this lip balm is quite possibly the worst i have ever tried. not only does it taste bad and tingles on the lips as if you've smeared on medication, but it's sooo greasy and disgusting. it's difficult to apply just the right amount and it was a hassle to get rid of the excess grease on my lips. i went right back and got burt's bees beeswax instead. beeswax is simply superior to any other chapstick out there. will never make the mistake of going with any other chapstick again.
Its inexpensive, it works as well as Kiehl's...which I love (but is way more expensive). Great base for lipstick. I usually put on a few coats when my lips are dry and in a few minutes I can just exfoliate the dead skin off lightly. Perfect for the price, classic. It wouldn't have stayed in business if it didn't do the job!
I will never ever leave home without carmex. I love everything about it. I even love the smell, which a lot of people hate. I was so pumped when I saw they were selling it in a click tube. I bought a cherry scented one that's just awesome. It's a little greasy for awhile, but its worth the protection for your lips.
Though I use it mainly during the winter months, I keep a thing of Carmex around during the summer as well. It works very well for chapped lips, and is also extremely cheap. I prefer the flavored ones, like cherry, but even the original flavor isn't too bad. It lasts a lot longer than some of the other lip balms I use, and is cheaper as well.
